did they ever make an uprated manifold or is the standard one perfect for the job?

if it is - whats best to do to make it look a bit newer? clean it up and spray it?

There isnt an "uprated" FRST manifold to say of, if your using the standard T2. The standard manifold is only of use to a T2 or a T2.5 anyway.
You could "upgrade" to an ERST manifold, in which you could then fit a T3 turbo. That manifold is apparently good for about 300bhp.
Greg : Owner of a FRST for 14yrs

2009 FRS2 : 377bhp ATW / 395lb/ft :)
1990 FRST : Sold.
