right...1.1 fresco...rage sys backbox...
needs to be louder, she doesnt purr on tickover which is slightly pants.
should i de-cat it...or remove the middle silencer box?
or maybe both...?
i know de-cating will improve performance slightly...but will it have a side affect if its missing?
ta very much

Removing the cat can in some circumstances cost you power. Removing any part of the system can have the same effect. There was a superb article in Fast Ford the other month about exhausts and how they work.
Exhausts are a fair bit more complicated than just a load of bent pipe under the car.

throw a way the bag of bolts we all know as the 1.1 . probably the only way youll get a good noise from it.
btw if your car was made after august 1992 then it has to have a cat. no bones about it . if it hasnt got one itll fail the mot.

Jonezy :im 18 and can insure a saxo vts for 1300
Thats not something to be proud of matey
The first 3 years of driving is total hell on the insurance premiums.
I was 21 when i passed my test was paying £1100 on a 1.1 fiesta, then 6 months later £1550 for a 1.6 xr2i.
Now im 23 and still getting bent over paying £1100 for a Rs turbo
Moral of the story - if your going to make changes to your daily runner. make sure you can afford to insure it with the new mods.
