Exhausts & Cat Replacement Pipes....

Postby BillyCabrio on Mon Nov 14, 2005 10:33 am

Following on from my post about the 2.0 conversion i need some help about the exhaust i'm running.

I have a cat back Mongoose system which is ok, its the cat and downpipe that are my problem.....

I can't use a cat replacement pipe as the cat is part of the downpipe, i'm assuming that the cat replacement pipe would bolt into position??

Or is it a case of cutting the cat off of the downpipe and fitting and clamping the replacement pipe into place?

Has anyone done this or got any good advice/pictures to offer me?

CheeRs for you help in advance. :P

Most cat downpipes bolt onto the flexi joint.

after the manifold there is a flexi joint where the rest of the down pipe connects to which joins to the cat.

Not on mine there isn't!!

Cat is fixed to a rigid pipe, the whole system - manifold to tailpipe is rigid pipe :-?

You will need a cat replacement pipe mate, then an exhaust to suit it..

the flexi joint should be before the cat ie between the cat and the manifold.
