i want to fit a performance exhaust to my mk3 1.1sx but the only back boxes i can find are big-bore style ones like peco's.
I thought about fitting one meant for a 2i, i think the layouts the same but i dont know about the pipe diameter.
would this have a negative effect on power?
also, can anybody recommend any decent backboxes? what about powerflow? i dont want anything to loud, just enough to disguise the rattling from the shed of an engine!
cheers

I've got a lovely powerflow job with a lifetime warranty, all for £218 fitted in about 3 hours.

A word of warning about exhausts - every engine requires an optimum sized hole through which the exhaust gases are to pass. If the hole is too small, i.e. standard, then peak power is poor. Conversely, if the hole is too large, I have heard that idle and low-range power is negatively affected. A straight through 1" to 1.5" system is about right, and sounds the nicest, although the figures were taken only roughly from mine.

May be selling a full Janspeed system for a 1.1 in about a month

Depends if I can sort my motor out.
I had the same problem mate, no-one does a decent system for them. Kinda understandable, but not everyone's got an RS / XR!
Post back if interested, Rob.
