What do people rekon to extending the air pilter hose so the filter (KnN) sits low behind the front bumper. :D

Saw something similar being sold but just wondering about a diy job

Good or bad idea.

More cold air, less hot air but is it possible??? :-? :-? :-? :-?

I'd say bad idea  but what do i know, wouldn't it make it harder for the engine to suck air in, better just fitting a large cold air feed pipe

id put it behind the mesh opening in the bumper. The problem is that no matter how big the intake pipe is hot air will still get in. Put it away from the engine and no hot air, but im no expert.

i'm really regrettin binnin the mondeo inlet manifold as this comes up from underneath and goes ROUND the engine instead of over it , and with my battery soon to go would be ideal :x

Errm, imho a cold air feed pipe on it's own is the biggest waste of time in the world - the pipe only stands a chance of getting any cold air when the car is in forward motion, at which point the engine bay air temp usually drops as it is washed with cold air anyway. Standing still the cold air pipe is doing next to nothing. A standard airbox modified with a cone filter inside it would do an great job if only the inlet pipe from the bumper was enlarged a bit :)

What i was thinking was putting the cone behind the mesh down low behind the fron bumper.

What about this then for a bit mental. Somehow modify the inlet pipe to give off 2 tubes and have 2 cones!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 :D :D :D

Not convinced it would work but would be fu**ing cool if it did!!!!! :D :D

i remember seeing somewhere on here a link to a site where some matey put his cone filter into one of his mums tuperware plastic containers with a cold air feed coming from that to the front bumper . so its not pulling in any air from the engine bay its all coming from outside the bay
