Im going to lower my car soon and cause im on a budget i cant really afford shocks. So im going to get just lowering springs. My question is how do ford shocks cope, if i lower the car say 30mm. And what make of springs does anyone recommend.

The car is a L plate XR2i 16v

Should be fine as long as your shocks are in good nick.

Jamex, Spax, Eibach and Pi are all good.

I've dropped my 2i by -35mm with just Spax springs and it's fine, looks sweet as!! The handling has improved by a mile!! In all I'd say the best mod I've done!!!
I got some standard ford shocks and I think they were about £60 each(front), tell me if I'm wrong but thats what I think they were if I can remember right!
