fao computer nerds
somehow my pc is doing 2 weird things.
firstly, when i click on a link or bookmark etc, instead of naviating to there it opens a new tab, very annoying!
secondly, it is now zooming in on webpages instead of scrolling up and down, with the mouse wheel. Both super annoying things!
Cant see a simple thing in the options, tried restarting and no joy. Also its doing the same thing in firefox and chrome.

Re: fao computer nerds
What sort of mouse are you using? Some desktop mice have a button on the side of them that when pressed it auto zooms in and needs to be pressed again to zoom back out.
As for opening in a new tab, depending on what browser you're using you'll need to adjust your 'Tab Settings'.

Sounds like your Ctrl Key is stuck. Press all your modifier keys one after the other (shift, ctrl, start, alt, alt gr, start, context, ctrl, shift.
That will stop it.

Re: fao computer nerds
Def sticky keys or something similar.
Ctrl-Click opens links in a new tab and Ctrl-Scroll zooms in and out.

Yes it would. The Macs at my office are useless.
My name is Alex. I used to have a Capri. I don't anymore. But I'm still called Capri.

Oh OK then. It sounded like the usual 'Macs are better than everything in the world that was ever made, ever, yes even puppies' type drivel I usually hear from Worshippers at the Altar Of Apple. I was concerned they'd converted you.

Is that your best joke Ollie? If I happen to see you in the next 6 weeks I am gonna have to drown you in a big pond with a island and a little bridge, if there happens to be one close.
So you will be fine as long as you avoid big ponds with little bridges and islands, and me, in the next 6 weeks.

Re: fao computer nerds
I'm gonna steal your bath.
Oh absolutely, I've preordered my i-look-how-cool-I-am-Pad already.
In seriousness though, whilst I like using my Mac and various Apple bits for stuff I do at home, I don't believe they belong in our offices at work where OS X doesn't integrate with our Active Directory, they can't be configured by MS Group Policies, and we can't run our various tools and software packages on them.
I certainly wouldn't say my MacBook is faultless and the issues I've had with my home PC aren't the fault of Windows either.
