is it a good idea to skim original pistons down mate :-? or is it worth just to put uprated ones?

I'm concerned enough about running my engine on standard pistons, but skimming standard pistons is pretty nasty practise IMO if you're building an engine to make power! :aaah:

Count yourself lucky my 1600 bottom end cost me £3k. £220 would get you a pair of low comp pistons and pretty much bugger all else.

If you want a powerful engine you'll need to put some hard earned into it.

take it back and complain if they didnt provide you with the goods/services you specifically asked for.

burton power do a good selection of pistons for the zetec engine.

other wise, i wouldnt like to pushing more than 12 psi on standard pistons.
