Could "jayrs" look in his "Sent Items" in your pm'ing system to see if there are any messages that have been sent not from you, i.e. someone has hacked in...

And could "Shacky" please post how he sent his mobile number to the possible fraudulent buyer.

This is a bad situation to be in, and I feel for the person who is getting ripped off. It goes to show that the recommended payment process (cheque and email etc) are VERY important, no matter what the rush.

So even if you had direct access to the db and could read the user record for Joe Bloggs, you wouldn't be able to convert the md5 encrypted password back to plain text to be able to log in.

You may be able to change the password but then Joe himself wouldn't be able to log in so it would set alarm bells ringing.

In short, there is no way to hack into someone's account without them knowing. The only way would be to obtain their password through other methods - maybe a shared PC at work or Uni, or by a phishing scam with a fake login page.
