Shacky :plus my best mate thats helping me with the car is in the army and hes going to pull some strings
this sort of talk isn't going to win you much support is it?
the guy apparantly lives on the IOW and you sent the payment elsewhere.
Surely you should try to get some answers from Jayrs and the site admin before deciding what to do?
throwing nob-like threats around only serves to make people think you're a gammon slipper.

How did you get the address? By PM, e-mail, phone or...?
Double, triple check the address definitely came from jayrs chap.
Also, how did you send the money? Cheque, cash, PO or...? And was it sent recorded?

Please don't embarass me. being in the army does not make us/me superhuman and/or a thug. You can pass that message onto your mate too.
Anyway,
For what its worth i would imagine this is some kind of identity theft and you are being/have been scammed. Best solution is to contact ade to let him sort it out.

i joined jun last year, and recently problems have occured where peoples accounts have been supposedly hacked. i myself find this worrying, with hammy-fiesta's account being supposedly hacked, and now this situation,if this is the situation and peoples accounts are being hacked, what can be done to prevent it now before more porblems occur?

The only way people will get access to your account is through your own actions/choices.
Choose proper passwords, not easy things and don't let people use/know/figure out your email account details.
Just use your heads and you'll never have a problem

You can't hack someone's account without them knowing:
The passwords are stored in the database as one way encryption so when you register and choose a password of "opensesame" it stores it in the database (db) as "e6078b9b1aac915d11b9fd59791030bf".
When you log in again, it takes the "opensesame" and encrypts it again before comparing it to what is stored in the db for your user record. If it matches it lets you in.
So even if you had direct access to the db and could read the user record for Joe Bloggs, you wouldn't be able to convert the md5 encrypted password back to plain text to be able to log in.
You may be able to change the password but then Joe himself wouldn't be able to log in so it would set alarm bells ringing.
In short, there is no way to hack into someone's account without them knowing. The only way would be to obtain their password through other methods - maybe a shared PC at work or Uni, or by a phishing scam with a fake login page.
I think that would be condescending. Logic dictates that anything that requires a password requires some level of security and care should be taken to ensure that password remains confidential.
