Re: fast 2i
18rs :tis not a 2i but an rs 1800 [ERRR] a 99 2.0 zetec e its 158.4@6975 and 146lbft , goes of the clock at 6150 , unichip ,jr filter ,modded throttle body,scorp ex,
So it's not a 2i, HAS had a transplant, and does over 6,000 mph. Helpful!! He wants figures for an XR2i, with XR2i engine, not RS1800 with a 2.0 in it!

Robin :friends of mine had 2i 8v that was blueprinted engine with a stage 3 head and it was producing about 135-140 bhp
thats a seriously good bhp for a N/A cvh, but to get ur head blueprinted costs £££'s
now sold but not forgotten!

i know a guy that had a 16v 1.8 xr2i, had around 170bhp cuz he ran a ~70bhp shot of nitrous through it. didn't last very long though he skidded into a tree and bust the car up.

When i had my old 1.6 EFI engine in my Orion the spec was like this
Stage 3 head, 1.3 CVH pistons with valve cut outs, Kent CVH 27 cam, Zorst manifold 4-1, Chip, and K&N cone filter.
Then swapped to Stage 3 lean burn head skimmed a bit to give a compression ratio of 11.5:1 and to run with a EFI inlet manifold, FRST pistons, Kent CVH 27 cam, uprated fuel injectors, Zorst manifold 4-1, custom mapped chip, and K&N cone filter.
Then i went to a 2.0ZVH running twin 40's throttle bodies, but that didn't put out the power i wanted and now i'm just finishing of a 2.1 Zetec 16v running twin 48's throttle bodies, forged pistons, steel rods, gas flowed big valve head, custom race spec cams, Vauxhall soild lifters, plus loads more.

my former 2i 1.6 8v was nearly standard..
all but: big bore 4" backbox, k&n 57i and Brisk sparks..
it did more that 140mhp tops (on the GPS) and nearly 150mhp on the speedo .. ..
it outran vauxhals astra D and E 16v's on sprints..
it could keep up with porsche 911 (had one stuffed in my flank nearly once)
and was just damn quick..
It outran my m8's uno 1.3 turbo which dynoed at 120BHP (-:

1.8 16v 2i. Running 115 bhp @ 5250.
Soon to be up at the pod, wanna see what she runs, as i can quite easily keep up with the RS's. ( going to get video of this, but my mates 183 bhp escort turbo doesnt pull on me up to 60 ).
im just running an air filter and back box. ( had a full retune at power engineering tho )

I know u lot ent talkin bout exhausts but iv asked loadsa different rooms n no1 has replied yet. I want a de-cat pipe for my SI but ent got dat much money to spend as insurance is nearly due. Sum1 told me i could get a down pipe off a diesel fiesta. Is this true n will it work, how much more power will i be looking at, will it make it sound any different?
Thanx Hopefully one of u will reply!

Must have had a gearbox with different ratios to normal - my bro's one could only manage about 135 on the clock whereas the 2 XR2i's I've owned I only managed to hit 130 (before splitting hoses like thermostat to heater matrix )

Before the turbo conversion my 1.8 16v did 151.4bhp@4406rpm and 183.4lb ft@4188rpm.. only got a bhp figure with the 50 shot of nos and that was 186.1bhp.the torque was just over 200 s'far as I can remember..
300bhp is better,mind!!!!

My 16v 1.8 has scorpion exhaust, magnex de-cat system, piper x cone filter and has been chipped. Dont know an exact figure but it keeps up almost exact with dr1984s RS1800 which is around 130bhp and has no probs with standard turbos, also around 130bhp. Tops out at 130mph tho
Hope this helps
