fiest mk2........1.1........
i've recently bought a c reg 1.1 fiesta as a practice car (learning to drive see ).
the engine is a hcs type with a ford vv vacuum carb, would replacing it with a single choke webber make the car a little more responsive?
im also in the process of making a straight through exhaust (i love the sound ), will this make my little car feel a little bit quicker or just a waste of time?:-?
cheers

with the exhaust ive fitted a new downpipe, but i bought the wrong backsections (fords cocked up) so i cut the silencer out of that and welded in a tube instead (perks of a ford employee). the actual middle section of the exhaust was ok so ive connected that bit to my modified bit and voila! this has saved some dosh and the first tiny silencer is still in there, so if the noise does p*$s me off then i can just stick in another back section which only costs from ford 11 pounds.
the carburrettor on the engine i really do not like though, because of its terribly slow vacuum response. what really is making me change it though is because my throttle pedal seems very sticky, is there any way that i could do to get the pedal to move more freely?
are there any performance air filters avaliable for these types of carb?
i've got some nitrox hot shot for the car, does this make any difference to the engine performance?
cheers.
