Fiesta 1.0
Hi
Got myself a Popular plus 1.0 haha for run around.
few things annoy me about it thou, tappets make a racket, is there any guides to quiten these down?
also someone said you can take away part of the airbox (the bit that provides a tunnel from the manifold hot air gasses to the air filter) in turn pouring hot air into the filter which obviously dont help! apparently this helps in starting the engine in the winter but will it do any damage removing it?
i know its a 1.0 but anything else i could do to squeeze for power on the cheap?

The thing your on about with the air box is what i have done in the past. I went to the scrappy and got another top for the air box. I then cut off around the edge of this new top so it only covers the top of the air filter i.e so air still passes through the filter, but goes directly to it, rather than through the tube thing.
Apart from that, dont bother with aynthing else. You wont get any extra power from a 1.0.
As for the tappets you adjust them with a fila (spl, i think thats the name for it) gauge, quite easy to do. Also, some tapping can happen cos the arm things have warn down a little. there is a guide somewhere for filing this down just a tad so its back to being flat.. Its either on here of on ukfiestanetwork.com

Just because I keep talking about definetly doing it doesn't mean I'm actualy going to do it.
