Postby bransby on Wed Jun 03, 2009 11:01 pm

hi im new to this and just wonderd if any of you could anser any of ma problems for me lol. ive got a 1.1 fiesta that i stripped to a shell, welded up and totally rebuilt the hole thing with new performance parts. ive got a refurbed 1.3 hcs engine that ive stripped put a kent cam kit inside which rekons it will add 20 bhp lol but will prob add 5 and ive got it in the car and running, its runing on a power flow exhaust system and the singlepoint fuel injectin off a escort with a kn filter. its seems to be running sweet but i was wondering if i could fit a twin choke webber or webbers to the hcs engine? and wich ones ?, also does any1 know were i could get a 4 branch exhaust manifold from and a decat?, also should i fit a fiesta 1.3 ecu instead of the fiesta 1.1 ecu? and can you have these remaped ?, cheers for any repleys [ERRR] im stuk 4 ansers, Ryan

iv got a 1.3 hcs engine aswel with powerflow back box and k&n filter but most people on here say it is worth doing anthing else to the engine. just give it a good service and adjust the tappets!!

iv been lookin for a 4 branch aswel but havent had much luck, as for a decat jus make your own if you can weld or get one made

where did u get the kent cam from and how much did it cost

cheers
old fords never die...............they just get faster!!!!!

as white diamond said its not worth doing could spend loads on it but it wont go anywere. would hate to see how much you paid for the cam. you could easily drop in 1 of the zetec enines for lesss than you sent on the hcs

well if its running on a single point injection system you wont be able to fit a webber carb to it since carbs run on open loop engines, the best thing i think you could do is to try and fit the multipoint injection system from a mk4 1.3 engine, but i dont think this would do you much good, would only make it more reliable and more fuel effiecent, id just get the ecu from a 1.3 and get it remapped should see a nice power gain from that you could see as much as 70bhp, then if you find a 421 you could see 75 or so, theres this guy on youtude with the endura from a ka and has done the kent cams and 421 manifold and has his running on 80bhp~ so thats a gain of 20bhp, from an engine everyone is so adament you cant tune, but it is smarter and cheaper to just drop a zetec in lol

Not worth it, so don't bother.

The best thing to do to it performance wise is an engine a swap with some more powerfull like the 1.6 out of an Si or a 2.0 out of a mondeo :)

it really annoys me when people say just do an engine swap its easier and cheaper wel he has already said hes not doing that for at least a year so the least you could all do is help him out on what he wants, i have done the 2.0 zetec conversion and it costs money aswell and problems come with it. but like he said hes keeping the cvh for a year then doing it, i dont know alot about tuning a cvh though so i cant help you but people with abit more knoledge could but im not going to be another one sayin dont bother just swap the engine. thanks
