Fiesta 1.8 16v zetec fix-up project!
After reading some nice project work topics on here, I thought I would attempt one of my own!
I had a 1.6 8v, H-reg XR2i around 10-11 years ago and spent a small fortune tarting her up with spoilers, bumpers, etc etc but after only owning her for 6-7months, she was stolen from me. Turned out it was ordered due to long story that I wont bore you all with but I got her back the same night and decided I "needed" to get rid ASAP. I vowed that one day, I would buy another.
So after looking for a cheap workhorse for me so I could leave my other car for my wife while I was at work, I stumbled across this little beaut!!
The pictures make the paint look great but its about 9 different shades and im sure you can imagine the colour of the roof.................it's fecking PINK!!!
A panel beater friend of mine checked the car over and we decided to go halfs on it, fix it up, re-spray and sell on for a small profit. The car came with a full years MOT, 104k miles and very little tax. Ive now put some tax on it though and have been using it every day for work while my friend and I have been taking time out at the weekends to do some work. I dont work too far from home so not many miles going on it and I still use my main car from time to time so I'm hoping to keep the mileage down!!
The first weekend of doing some work, we took the bumpers off to find the entire chassis had been waxoyled when new and so all panels were original and pretty solid!!! 2 thumbs up for that!
When we took the arches off the wings, we soon noticed that they werent so great.
So now we have decided to replace the front wings. Ive managed to locate 2 new wings but I opted for the mk3.5 wings and bought the newer oval shape repeaters instead!
This is all I have so far but will update as I progress!!

Re: Fiesta 1.8 16v zetec fix-up project!
Another little bit of work carried out today.
Went to make a start on both front wings but upon opening up the packaging for the drivers side, we discovered the company had sent out the wrong fecking wing!!!!!!!
The wing that was listed and pictured was this,
But what was sent, was this,
The other side happened to be the correct part though so not a total loss,
We got the old wing off,
New one going on,
And finished job,
Also got the original spongey XR2i spoiler off,
And new RS Turbo spoiler on,
My friend and I were hoping to get both wings done today but due to the wrong one being sent we gonna have to leave it till the new one arrives. Will post more when more work has been done!

how the heck did they mess the wings up? surely they thought you'd order the pair being the same address?!

That's a shame, as you did a good job of fitting the pattern wing.

I know and I have the other wing here waiting to be fitted along with a couple other pieces to add. All it needs really is the other wing fitted, a few rusty areas sanded down, filled and then its fit for a re-spray!
I just cant afford to do the rest of the work!

Re: Fiesta 1.8 16v zetec fix-up project!
Managed to escape fatherhood duties this weekend and get a bit of time on the car again so got the other wing off!
And new one fitted,
Just the boot to sort out, passenger door, starter motor and a few rust spots then its respray!! Hope I can get round to them sometime this year, lol.
If anyone is interested in taking this project on, get in touch and we can work out a deal.........
