Fiesta '2I 105 BHP conversion to 130 BHP - HOW?????

Postby RS1800IBLOKE on Thu Oct 16, 2003 8:01 pm

Hi everyone

i have a 1993 XR2I - its got a 1.8 zetec pushing out 105bhp (as u all know)
i wish to convert it to 130 bhp spec (as in rs1800i), so far i have been told i need the Throttle Body and ECU of a 1.8 130 engine ( mk5 XR3I or similar). i was also told contrasting things by people regarding the cams, one said i need them, the other said they are the same so i dont need to change them.
i have a tight budget at this stage, i can pickup CAMS ECU and Throttle body at a breakers for £150 - which is good as i will get 25bhp for this !!!
IS THIS CORRECT OR DO I NEED MORE BITS - poss a 2.0l throttle body would be better, i am stuck - please help

the only thing you will not have, compared to the rs1800, is the piston cooling oil sprayers beneath the pistons.. it's not really needed though..
