Fiesta Carbon Track Car - Back From The Dead! HUUGGEE update

Postby McGoo 69 on Wed Feb 27, 2008 11:32 pm

Here it is, had it away but not realy looked after it, so i bought some RS alloys and ive decided im going to clean it up and keep it nice even though its only for 2 and from work. Im going to keep it cheap as possible using what i have from my previous SI to make it sweet.

Going to fit my 150bhp 1.8 rs zetec engine out of my cosi project as my 1.6 engine had nakerd valve stem seals so that will solve the smoke problem nicly :top:

Also want to get my hands on a chear Turbo body kit i can stick on to finish the rs theme and to make use of my Genuine turbo bonnet of my old si :top:

Image

it stayd like that for awhile only difference was the tsw wheels

crap pic but

Image

then i got these new wheels on saturday

Image

much improvement over the tsws

Image

one fitted, god i hate changing shocks with rust bolts :wall:

Image

all four done now this is how she is sitting now :top: not a supercar but not bad for a work car :top:

Image

unfortunatly since then ive had to take of my lowering springs as the tyres rubbed to much, going to look into getting my arch's rolled and ill try again/get [ERRR] tyres, doesnt look the same atm

took the 1.6 out and replaced it with the 1.8 as the 1.6 was burning oil.
sorry about the poor pics it gets dark to soon these days

engine out, was such a ball ache

Image

Image

cleaned up the 1.8 (has a new rocker cover on, also waiting on more engine parts , its nout spesh just a cleanup while it was out

Image

fitted a new cat convertor, centre section, rear section, filters and did a engine flush etc so shes running sweet

all i have to do is fit the turbo brakes, fit the matching ecu and chip then im going to send her to get serviced/checked over

oh and fiesta turbo bumpers on there way to go with my bonnet of my previous fiesta

should look good when done

bit of a update not updated in awhile, its only making slow progress as i realy cba with it as i need to focus on my escort but i keep spending money on it...

Going down the track car route so ill get my use out of her doing the odd few laps around tracks.

So i bought this:

Ford puma racing seat + sparco 3point harness

Image

Couldnt find a matching seat then these came up =D

Got them for a steal! just need a clean up and my name being stiched in,

Image

Image

Image

got a few more bits but no pics, will get it done and get some proper pics, these pics are a bit crap

Sorry if it doesnt all make sence its been copied from another forum

bought a selection of parts this weekend from demon tweeks. seat brackets, samcos, for my forced induction and another harness.

I took the seats appart you "unpluck" the driver names from the sparcos and i gave them a wash to freshen them up. Got the covers back on fitted them to the car and stripped out the rest of interior this weekend.

Still have my parcel shelf with the 6x9s as i am ordering carbon door cards and vibe kevlar speakers so i can still listen to music on the way to work :D

Orderd a few more bits but will have to wait and see, its looking like now though

Postby McGoo 69 on Sun Mar 30, 2008 8:29 pm

im not too sure yet tbh, dont think they fit right.

done some more work today.

sorted out my engine bay, nout fancy but looks smart imo, had to do a bodge with the samcos as its all demon tweeks had in but it will do. Also had to move the battery behind my seat as the induction took up too much room. The position of the battery is only tempory. Any have any better ideas where to put it or what battery to get?

I also fitted a 2.0 mondeo maf so its reving abit higher atm, does anyone know how to tweek it?

Image

Image

Funnel, i know it looks gay but i put it there as im not keen on taking out a fog light and i couldnt get the pipe to go in the centre of the bumper where theres a gap for a intercooler as it was too tight. on the plus side i have a spare funnel that has been painted the same colour as my car so hopefully it wont be as obvious. Still function over looks eh

Image

where the battery is atm :o :o :o

now the moment you have all been waiting for.....

see what intrest these pics gain

car faild on quite minor things, corroded brake lines, head light fixing snapped, wheel bearing etc nout major

so i decided to strip the whole lot and get it buftyish :D

petrol tank has come off, so has rear beam being painted up to prevent further rust

how my car stands now

Image

decided to clean the underside and hammerite the lot!

Image

Image

pics dont do it much justice, ill get some more pics when i get it up a ramp

i also had these pi shocks what i had on my escort mk5, i think there the same fitment although the oil might be slightly heavier but im willing to give them a try till i get my coilovers in a few weeks

Image

striped

Image

painted, again only hammerite but 20x better than before

Image

also stripped out all the soundproofing.... what a crap job that was :x

Image

Image

now onto the parts ive collected

area 6 wish bones :o brand new 72quid bargin!

Image

Image

Euro lights from germany :P

Image

smoked sides to match, still trying to get front indicators in smoke if anyone can help?

Image

Mongoose s/s straight through exhaust + flexi

Image

Image

4 branch manifold to go with

Image

blue exhaust wrap to match my samcos

Image

perspex windows

Image

just gotta try to find a way to lock the sliding window, if not ill get a new peice of perspex to bolt over when not needed

Image

track wheels :D

Image

Image

also polysport exhaust mounts, rear anti rollbar mounts and omp bonnet pins.

got given the bonnet pins and anti rollbar mounts of a lad up the road who used to have a track fiesta so thats pritty cool.. if anyone has 2 spare arb bush's (the orange ones) please let me know and i can do a twin anti roll bar conversion :aviator:
