Interesting way of doing things but ultimately I think it will drive a lot better doing it that way! :D

Thats more like it..... But i think you will regret rwd, a 4x4 is far better and not as expebsice as you think as the power in your car.will feel alot quicker due to the weight... Rwd will get no grip at all if you never knew dan he had a 4x4 blue one and he.struggled to get grip .... 350 hp in a fez will be like 450 in a cossie... But ive not been on here in a while keep it up tho wanna see this completed but 4wd :P

Just a small update. Skyline has camber and Castor pillow ball top mounts are fitted. The shell is nearly welded up so will take pics soon.

And nope 2wd it is!!! And there is a difference proper 4wd box 25k. tko 2wd box capable of easy 800bhp 2500. Big difference :)

are the top mounts fitted correct? i'm sure i have seen them fitted slightly different!? not a pick just trying to help. Also yes you are kinda correct but if your trying to save money why do what your doing? there are 2-3 4wd potential gearboxes that will cope with the power 1 lude (which i have), 2 quaife just released a sequential and 3 oppleiger motorsport in italy also do a sequential too all these are under 10k the ffd and all that are very expensive and even they break with high power...

I am actually tempted to change to sequential myself but will be getting mine running perfect before i do that.

edit : check how the mounts are in wennys

if you asked me mate, id say sod it, go ahead with rwd and have some laughs, id go easy on the power around bends of tight and dangerous areas for obvious reasons, and in the meantime id save up for a 4wd set up, simple enough to convert at a later stage, just get this massive project squared away first, you have enough on your to do list imo

U just took my next answer out my mouth mate. I was going to say it doesn't matter anyway as its an easy conversion at a later date.

4wd is the way forward but if you can't afford it now it's no biggie as you said its a simple conversion later on.
As for rwd, just put a LSD on my daily BMW and haven't performed a 3 point turn since! :D
Rwd is far funnier , but also has its disadvantages

that would be my choice if funds dont allow!! IMO any RWD car over 450hp is a waste of time unless its bone dry, theres just no grip... its ok if your into that but i value my life too much!

tell a top fuel dragster that with 3000bhp rwd all the way lol. and iv never had that problem driving a m6.. m5.... m3.. v12 bi turbo mercs skyline r33 all rwd get the power down and dont just spin around! just because you have big power doesnt mean u 1 have to use it all the time. and 2 doesnt mean u apply it all when pulling into a gap etc. iv driven all of the above cars "not the dragster" with tcs off and have been sidways but never around in circles.. unless intended or going fudgekin mental!! my superbike doesnt just spin unless i want it to either. obviously 4wd has more traction. but driving abality comes into it aswell... why do soooo many people convert cossis to rwd ? and why was the best ever cossi "rs500" rwd and won everything ? just out of interest ? :-?

I ordered them a long time ago now and can't fully remember if they are skyline or evo 8 mounts!! I think there evo ones tho. Not sure who I bought them off either think I found a retailer off the hks site. But they was very expensive at £550!!

Just a quick update. The shell is fully welded now, and the bottom is done!! All prepped seam sealed stonechipped and painted! Got a few pictures off my phone. It's back on the floor now and the steering is also all hooked up. Going well! Next will be get the inside sealed and painted and then the bodywork.

i think the main reason most big power cossies are converted to RWD is the T5 box is much stronger than the 4wd set up in the sierra and escort, and its far cheaper than a strong 4wd set up also

loving the work, weird seeing that floor pan under a fiesta :P
