then again the 2 litre lump is heaver than the 1.1 hamster wheel engine so that too could bring the wheels back in line

more tasks completed this weekend.
Fitted the front genuine xr2 shock absorbers with the Pi 30mm lowering springs.
Also replaced the worn top mount rubbers.

I also fitted the steering rack limiting kit so the inner arches no longer rub on the tyre.
They were quite fidderly but worth it :)

The rear wheels now have 15mm hub centric spacers. The tyre clears the inner arch now and longer bolts fitted.
I havent fitted the rear springs yet.
Car handles alot better now and no rubbing :)

surely the mk6 fiesta 15" steels are a better match? they'd be ET35 i think

hmm zetec, why not a RS turbo engine?

lol ive always liked the idea of the rs turbo into a mk2, reletively easy to do too with the 1.4/xr2 engine mounts and box etc :Q

it is fairly easy, but its not as easy as you think mate, if you want it done right, then it can throw up some problems due to space in the bay with mounting things, but it is a very nice conversion, i thought about it on the xr2, but tbh, for me, 1 turbo car is enough for now, i fancy good NA power :Q

To follow up on the turbo debate, to put it in to context a standard rst lump is ni on the same power as dropping in the n/a 2.0l.

Plus i would say the zetec is the more day to day user freindly of the two. Im not dissing the cvh turbo (ive got one lol) but the zetec engine is far more refined, returns better fuel economy and they rev like a good un as well. I have to say though I dont recall ever being in a turbo'd mk2 fiesta and it certainly would be great to drive.

all the same on the mk2's mate, if it came with rear speakers, there have them fitted, but all rear door cards had the grills/holes in so dont take it that if the grills/holes are in the card, theres a speaker behind it

things like the pop, and pop plus wont have them, well pop plus might, its 50/50, xr2's, ghias, 1.4s etc will deffo have them

you after a set for mod to fit the mk3?

My Ghia came with the rear speakers mounts. Theres a pic in my thread on how I did the speakers. I think, like mentioned above, only high end fiestas came with them. My mates 1.1L didnt have them.

Knuckles have you done the ARB yet? if not bolt it to the bottom of the car first then bolt it to the beam/bottom of the shock. Its so many easier doing it that way round as I found out yesterday.
