Fiesta mk2 - ready for ford fair !
Re: Fiesta mk2 - off road
knuckles :Still havent stripped the head off this but it now has a home over winter in the garage.
i have decided come the new year i will begin the process to build a slivertop zetec turbo engine
The hardest part will be fitting in the T3 turbo and intercooler without chopping up the front of the car.
I still want it to remain a sleeper
Well done mate . Turbo is the way forward.
Drop me a text if you need help/info on any zetec turbo stuff.

Re: Fiesta mk2 - off road
ive managed to source a virtually brand new black top 2.0 zetec engine.
Its only done 8000 miles from new. so when it warms up a bit i will begin stripping out the mk2 for the 3rd time.
things i need to change to fit the blacktop are :
engine mount at back of block
alternator belt
add idler pulley & mounting bracket
bottom rad hose to suit different water pump
blacktop rocker cover
i cant wait to get this back on the road. I think making this turbo charged was a bit to optimistic. my main concern is getting it running again and not overfueling.

Re: Fiesta mk2 - off road
yeah i think you were mater, as i said its more hassle to turbo a mk2 due to reduced room in the bay, i think keeping it NA is the best way mate
ill dig out the engine mount bracket when im next out workshop, and ill sorce a black top rocker cover when im next up scrappy mate

thanks fella
yes i run st150 caliper and pads with escort rs2000 front discs.
I did have to relief a tiny fraction of the inner edge of the pad to clear the center of the disc. But when you combine this setup with a mondeo brake servo the brakes are 100 times better.

Calipers don't have a 'diameter' as such, the size discs they work with depends entirely on the spacing on the hub

Re: Fiesta mk2 - off road
not much of an exciting update as i have no pictures
but today i have managed to refresh the bottom end of the 2.0 blacktop engine ready for fitting next month.
New sump gasket & new ladder frame gasket
New rear main oil seal
Checked timing and replaced broken bottom timing cover
New rocker cover gasket along
Replaced front breather grommet
doesn't sound like alot but all this while the engine is out on the stand is far easier than if it was in the car.
Can't wait to get this in the car and get it running once more

The engine already has an Ian Howell timing belt tensioner

yes i did notice the genuine ford timing tensionier is a cheap nasty looking plastic version. As ryan just said the engine already has the uprated metal pulley fitted which is a bonus.
