Hi all, i recently got my fiesta for £575 with 60K on the clock. im going to be putting a xr/rs body kit on it and some other things on it too. heres some pics when i bought it. there is one problem with oil on the air filter in a few of the pics , any advise on that would be good. see what you think.

nice base car you have there.

That isnt a problem with air filter. Simply clean the oil from the plastic air box and buy and fit a new air filter.

The k&n induction kit is not worth wasting your money on - All it does is makes it sound better and looks nice.

Try drilling a few holes in the back of the air box to allow the engine to breath a bit more.

Also check the oil breather pipes to see if any of them are blocked up with sludge.

looks like the car does/done lots of short trips. i would take the rocker cover off and clean it out, same with the breather pipes

agreed with knuckles ...
unless it is a cheap second hand one (no more than £25 etc)
i used to have a 1.1 HCS drilled the BACK of the air box made loads of noise, has a k&n panel filter aswell, simply because it'd never need changing again..
didn't go any faster though....

Ive got exactly the same car as you but in silver.

If you do go for a k&n they're no use in the winter as they freeze up the throttle assemble and stop the engine

dont paint your interior black, i bought a car where someone had sprayed some of the interior black and now it is all peeling off, just leave it how it is, kawasaki green should be intresting not my cup of tea really, try getting either an si or recaro interior you dont want to keep the seats you have i there at the moment do you?

my mates a auto repair specialist and hes doing all the spraying for me and i asked him if it would peal but he sed hes got the proper interior paint so i hope it wont peal. i thought id go for something different , my mate sprayed his escort van kawazaki green and it looked really good so it should turn out good. i want recaro interior but im going to leave that for abit want to get the outside and engine working all good.

Ive just spotted your from Kings Langley, im from Abbots. Looks a nice base for a project there. Someone else has done a Fiesta bright green oonhere and it looks pretty good. I think it was S1, try doing a search for it.

What other plans have you got?

cheers ,try your local scrap yard or post on here or passionford for the bits you need, i got my bodykit in a day of ringing the bloke up which was good because i need it the next day.

stupid me shoved a screwdriver under the windscreen and tryed levering it out and cracked it but i was getting all new windows anyway.

anyone know how to remove the window holder (i think it is that, its inside the door) which covers the door catch and one of the outside door handle screws, but its not on the passengers side because the door is a new door. if any one can understand that and answer my question it would be helpful.

cheers sam

do you mean that sort of metal covering that is sealed in?

if so its a case of cutting the sealer and pulling it out, but be warned...it will never go back in!!

wish i had a mate that could spray
