Love the seats!

What was your process for polishing the tail lights?

Thanks, the seats are great for long drives :)

so the polishing was something like this if i remember:

Material:
sheets of sandpaper grit water 400.1200 2000
Polish
Polishing Machine
Soap polishing (fine for aluminum), i've used light blue .

Wash the headlights then start sanding the pieces well until they any grip like the serial number of the headlights i've removed mine, the headlight has to be smooth when you pass your hand on it.
Skip to medium grit sandpaper and repeat the process
Add a little sweat and tears because without these it will not shine ;)
After the surface is smooth with sandpaper repeat 2000 frequently with abundant water in all steps after being homogeneous go to the polishing step in polishing machine, add the soap to the doll and always polish in parallel position to the doll not to hurt the plastic you get a smooth and shiny finish with a mass of fine polishing finish it.

hope you understood, i haven't practiced my english that much :)

more updates to come :P

i had my project stopped for a while, i drove it everyday but i've done only maintenance, but then i found this on the german ebay :)
FK Konigsport coilovers
Image
Image

I started tearing them up but they weren't in a good condition but for what i've payed it was worth the shot.
Image
Image
Image

some photos of the work in progress.
Image

i had to made this in Portugal because the price that they were sold in FK was very high.
Image
Image

during all this process the coilovers were clean and the springs were painted in black.
Image
Image
Image

Final result

Image
Image
Image

all i needed to do was roll fender wash it and take some pictures :)

two videos of the test after i mounted the coilovers:

some photos with my cellphone :)

i've replaced the headlight

final looks

Then i went on vacations with my girlfriend and of course i took my car, we did a trip of 550kms with no issues to the south of Portugal. But on the next day when i got to the car i found this:

Image

after some time i found the problem, it was this metal bracket.
Image

i've walked around the village just to found a shop to buy some brackets so i could fix it and enjoy our holidays

Image

working in the middle of the street :)

Image

problem solved, so lets go do some more klms :D

Image

on the road we had this temperature on the car

Image

on Cabo S. Vicente just sitting around :)

Image

Since i got to Alentejo i did more then 500 kms with only one issue, the metal bracket. Dispite that the car was great with the air temperature of 37º.

There's a road between Lagos (Algarve) and Vila Nova de Milfontes that i enjoyed doing it, the only problem were the depressions on the road that i couldn't dodge doing 80 or 100km/h, i've made that trip chasing a Mercedes C250cdi from 2008 that only knew how to drive in straight line. :P

After that i've returned to the north of the country with no issues :D

I sold my 13" banded wheels and used the car like this for somewhile

Image

So next step, new wheels!!

Stay tuned :D

So i got some new wheels, they are 15" 8J ET 25, here are some photos of the test fit.

Image

Image

In the front
Image

In the back

Image

I will use 195/45, i could use 185/45 but i don't like nankang. I have a 3mm gap from the wheel to the coilover on the front and in the back i still have enough space.

I changed the PCD of the wheels from 4x100 to 4x108.

Here are the wheels :D Axis 15x8j Et25 4x100

Image

i've choosed 15" because i like lowered cars but be able to still drive it every day and park it in my garage :)

Another test fit

Image
Image
Image

Then we've polished the lips and painted the center in white, all the work was done by a friend that does this kind of work for a living.

first step

second step

a little preview of the final look
Image
Image

Finished :D
Image
Image
Image
Image

then we've started to paint
Image
Image

Final result
Image
Image

Image

After a maintenance job on the injection pump i worked again on the ride heigt off the car, and this is how the car stands right know.

Image
Image
Image
Image
Image

I still need to roll fender again on the front so i can lower it a little more, and then i need to think what i'm going to do next. :)

i would like to put TDCI engine on it but i can't find info on it..

Cool looking dash there fella, take a look at one of my old threads on here. I did the TD conversion a while back, there are some headaches around the pump but that's about it really.

Thanks for the feedback :)

i will check your project because i have that idea on my mind for quite some time now, and it would improve my long drives in confort because in this setup my car is a little loud after 120 km/h..
