Fiesta mk5 fuel pump problems

Postby ianFRST on Fri Mar 21, 2014 9:27 pm

hi chaps

long time no post.

i find myself with a little mk5 fiesta. most of the time it start and drives lovely

but a few times, ive had it where you come to start it, switch ignition on, and you dont hear the fuel pump prime like it should.

when its doing that, you can hear a "knock" from the rear, but no priming? ive been told (its a 2001) that its an early pump, like the mk3 rs turbo

where shall i start in trying to find the cause? new fuel pump?

99% sure its not the immobiliser, the little red light stays on when cranking then goes out
No longer a FRST owner, or even a Fiesta owner :(
