Fiesta rs turbo 2.1 zvh full resto unlucky 13 ?!
So here is my recently purchased white FRST restoration project.
With the engine in bits stored in the boot/behind seats and the car looking very tired in general it looked like another abused rs heading for the scrapyard !
It was delivered to me with only a log book and expired mot, no history whatsoever which is a shame for a car over 20 years old, but it has had some money spent on it over the years as there are various upgrades to the engine and the shell so far is not looking bad at all.
With 12 previous owners and me being the 13th ! I ve got a feeling things aren t going to be straight forward....

Yeah the exterior will be kept pretty standard apart from suspension and wheels but I ll be uprating engine parts as its being built, I'm hoping for the magic 200 bhp mark !

Re: White FRST restoration unlucky 13 ?!
So I got to work on my fiesta the weekend and found both good and bad things !
Bad things include rust, rot and holes,
Good things are that the shell is nt as bad as I expected, the sills and floor pan are solid. And the ecu has a superchip installed
Ive dropped the engine off at german autotech in dudley to see what condition its in and what options I have.

Re: White FRST restoration unlucky 13 ?!
Evening all !
Just a quick update on the Fiesta.
All the welding is done offside wheelarch was full of filler as shown in previous pictures. I took the grinder to it to see what was underneath to find someone had patched the wheelarch in several places ! The time it took them to do it , a new wheelarch could have been welded in Anyways thats whats been done now, complete wheelarch in and ready for filler !
Progress is being made on the engine.
Engine builder has come back to me to reveal engine has a t3 turbo and beige injectors with a pace intercooler.
Here are some pics of goodies gathered so far

Sooooo, its been a while since ive updated this thread but things have been busy at work so finding the time to work on the old girl have been tough !
Ive ended up getting deeper into the restoration as first planned and got myself a roll over jig made up.
Also, I got zetec block cleaned up and painted.

Re: White FRST restoration unlucky 13 ?!
Managed to strip rear beam down today so it can go to powder coaters along with a few other bits and bobs. Also decided to spruce up the suspension by painting them black.
Dropped more of the engine up to builder so hoping it will be built, in, and running within the next few weeks !

Re: White FRST restoration unlucky 13 ?!
Small update. Got some time to work on the fiesta Sat so started assembling the underside with all my powder coated parts. Various new parts including polybushes were also fitted. Also had the original rusty bolts zinc coated in silver, well chuffed with the results !

Finally got the brake and fuel line clips from Ford. Can't believe how many parts are quite difficult to get hold of for these now. Here's more pics of underside

Your Fiesta is looking lovely, nice work! The green springs are a great contrast, but almost a shame that they'll hardly be seen!
Do you work on just classics, or is it varied? I'm not a huge E type fan, but it's looking good!
