Not too much to report on but big updates coming soon as the car needs to be finished before the summer as I'm showing it as much as poss this year and it's really moving along now
So.....
Gearbox was stripped, cleaned and etch primed before being painted black (pics to follow once it's been built back up with freshly zinc'd bolts which I'm waiting for )

The green bumper mouldings aren't available anymore so I managed to purchase a new genuine xr2i one from the net. There are green ones available from a well known auction site but the colour match isn't as good as the original rs turbo ones.
Im going to prep and paint the xr2i one and the original one that's on the other bumper but was in poor condition to the same colour as the original side mouldings I have by mixing/colour matching from the paint on my mixing scheme.

Also, the fiesta got collected this morning to be dropped off to have the engine fitted

Engine mount has been modified for zvh conversion and painted.
I've started to fit the rest of the car up. Black dash is in and doors have been fitted up using original fixings which have been bright zinc'd.

No not yet, I’ll post a few up once it’s back from the tuners.
Turns out the ecu is faulty but I was going to go omex anyway so that’s on order. Im also considering a new stage 2 plus box from CTS as I don’t think the one I have will be strong enough.

Omex has finally arrived having been ordered in November last year and is now being fitted at my local tuners.
Body kit has been fitted.
I’ve had the gearbox rebuilt using an escort LSD.
Front intercooler from a sierra cosworth has been modified and now fitted.
Once I get it back from the tuners I can crack on with the rest of the interior.
It’s finally going to be on the road soon !

Car is back from the tuners (BHPerformance in Kingswinford) Omex fitted and mapped to 3000rpm to run it in for approximately 1000 miles.
In the process of building it up to get it ready for an mot and running into a few problems !
I’ve never heard this car run before so not sure what was working and what wasn’t.
Everything was working except the heater and the reverse light.
I checked the reverse light switch plug and there was no power to it, also as the gearbox came from an early escort rs turbo, the switch was different.
I changed the switch with the one from the original box, plug fitted but still no joy.
Did some research and it pointed to the green ignition switch relay.
Found and ordered one from Portugal !
Plugged it in and boom ! Heater worked but no reverse light .
I was concerned that there may be something missing from inside the box so to rule that out I purchased a new reverse light switch.
Fitted it, plugged it in and boom reverse light
Need to fit the interior now and then mot.
I’ve gone for black interior as the plan with this car was to modify it as I would have in the 90’s.
The headlining has been re covered in black. Black dash and trims along with mint RS1800 recaro seats.
I’ve also fitted boost and oil pressure guages.

I’ve decided to upgrade the current gearbox to a cts stage 2 plus box which should be more reliable for the power I’m hoping for.
