fiesta rs turbo mods

Postby fiestaboy07 on Mon Feb 12, 2007 7:04 pm

hello everyone i have just signed up.

i have got a fiesta rs turbo and it is standard at the mo but i want to upgrade the engine abit i was looking at putting a new turbo on it what turbo would fit onto the t2 manifold because i lke the low down power and would a turbo make the top end different. what other mods could i do to it and what kind o power would i be looking at?

cheers everyone craig

If the turbo is working then leave it alone if yuo need to change it then opt for the T3 from the Escort. The additional lag isn't noticable and the better suited turbo gives loads more scope for further tuning. Get a decent stainless exhaust system on as well as a good quality air filter.

If you're going for more power don't forget to ensure your suspension and brakes are up to the job :Q

End of the day mate you can go as mild or as mad as you want, the only limitting factors are your imagination and the size of your wallet :D

Trust me the T3 from the Escort is the turbo you want  and with 1500quid burning a hole in your pocket you should be able to get yourself running nicely.

The chatter sound (Click me! ) is obtained by simply fitting a cone filter.

That's the sort of noise you'll get with the cone. Are you going to do the work yourself or pay someone? It makes a big difference. Converting to T3 at a tuner will cost about £1000. On it's own you won'ty get more power you just get the scope for more power as the diddy T2 really can't deliver the goods expecialy once tuned.

Your cash should see you with a nice genuine 170bhp which is enough to upset some much bigger and more powerful cars. :D

My brothers makes 211bhp using the standard compression. Has been doing so for over a year now without problems.

pulsar turbo would be better than T3, is roller bearing cored and will spool up faster than T3 while still flowing enough air for 300bhp+

Get a 1.9 cvh bottom end on it, (anyhardy is selling one IIRC ) chip, injectors , pump, and 'cooler.

Shop smart and you should be able to get all that for 1500 and still have cash for other bits :Q

Couldn't disagree anymore I'm afraid. The Escort T3 is readily available and cheap as chips. The lag from it is minimal and it's more than capable of the job. A T4 is capable of supplying up to 400+bhp doesn't mean it would be suitable to whack on your Fiesta  A quick search of Universal turbo's reveals a Pulsar turbo will set you back £740 whereas the Escort item is only £500

1.9CVH converted cars rarely deliver what they promise (and that's not a dig at anybody that has chosen that route). Ollie of NMS fame is one of the few cars to do what it says, XR_dub from this board seems to have done well as well but has a pretty extensive spec list and has been very wise with the bolt ons. To get the most from them seems to cost a lot of cash and you end up with an engine no more powerfull than a well spec'd 1600 and something that doesn't rev as well. The rods also don't seem nearly as up to the task (mate turned 2 of his 1900 rods into banana's in his S1).

The pulsar T28 turbo on a 1.6 CVH can do 300bhp+ ?! :x

2lts pulsar engine is one thing, 1.6 CVH engine is another and bolting parts from a bigger cc engine with 16v head to a 1.6 CVH is not going to give you the performance of the first one.
