Re: OK HERE GOES THE CLEAN UP...NEW PICS
Done a little bit more to the ol gal in the week....Re taped the s**t parts of the loom so its alot fresher and cleaned up the clips that i had ready to be put back. Started by refitting the wiper mota and covers then the rear bulkhead panels....
Then the brake bar and coated brackets at the rear of the bulkhead..( MIssion!!!) and pulled the loom back throught with new fresh wing clips!! Also started to place the powdercoated brake lines into the new clips also!!
Also fitted a new servo whilst i was at it so that was into position finally!!!
Since fitting the brake lines tho i noticed some imperfections in the coating so they went back for a re-paint with a few other odds and sods such as rear pop out window screw covers. After this i decided to fit the brake and fuel lines to the underside...What a mission to get them all into the clips, took hours and a few i managed to throw a good ten or so feet in temper!!! Anyway heres the finished result so far on the underside...
Yes the brake nuts are green but i have got to recut the new nuts on yet so before anyone says it, no, they aint gna stay green!!!
Then i fit the rear beam brackets with new nuts and the blue ford flash paint over them, that they put on from the factory to add a bit of originality...
Next on the list is the rest of the underside running gear, and fuel tank (after painting it another 6 times to get it looking right). I was going to buy a brand new pattern one but i think that will just rust in time as they arent really painted in any kind of anti rust...time will tell i spose.
Anyway hope ya like...

Re: OK HERE GOES THE CLEAN UP...new pics
Rob i used a special stretchy tape that was mega sticky and has a high temp rating.........oh yeah thatll be pvc tape then!!!!
I did use a very good one tho, the same as i used years ago as it doesnt come unstuck. I was gna use the fabric tape that ford used but it looks a bit matt imo. Ill suck it and see how this gets on first...as i said tho, i only had to tape a bit of it.

Re: Fiesta RS Turbo Restoration
Right small update.
Managed to get the gear linkage built up again with the pin conversion on the shaft, which was a bit harder to get out, but Mr Higgs gave me a hand so was a bit easier, and alot easier to get bk in. Heres a few snaps....
Next on the agenda is the cursed fuel tank, ive had nothing but problems with the paint. Had it looking pukka the other night but then placed it ontop of a paint cap which gouged all the new wet paint off of one side. It will be done this time next week!!!
Went down to my mates yard tonight to see how my pals are getting on with their merc grey frst and panther black metallic frst restos ( Chrisxr2it3 and Ben)
Managed to leak a few pics of Bens Panther Black FRST on diamond cut 16" RS 7s taking shape....
Hope yas like....

Re: Fiesta RS Turbo Restoration
Had that problem when i first did mine a years ago.
Use a reverse thread dye kit, works a treat. Just tap a 4mm hole into the snapped bolt shaft and wind the reverse thread into the hole, and it unwinds the bolt whilst doing up the dye kit!!!

Re: Fiesta RS Turbo Restoration
Finally got round to painting the tank and sorting out a few new bits and bobs!!! Was in the garage today fitting them all up, so heres where im at, at the moment...slowly getting there!!! Ill let the pics do the talking.....
Lines connected up, inc h.brake cable placed in situ...
Then finally after shed loads of colour changes and filling tiny dents etc...The tank...
Using new gen ford tank grommets and rubbers...
And even bought the rear arch plugs to satisfy myself...
Heres a few of the brake lines in situ and jack, the colour is advanced in these pics and the lines are actually a little darker than in the pics...
So thats it for the moment, next on the agenda is a few bits from the powdercoaters then i can start to reassemble the underside...Oh and ive got to wait for my Brand New Shock absorbers to arrive!!!
Hope yas like it so far...any comments welcome!!!
