Fiesta RS Turbo Restoration...FINISHED ITEM CONCOURSE PICS.
Re: OK HERE GOES THE CLEAN UP...ROT OUT!!!
Yeah it was on the drivers side, i wanted to make sure it was def taken out..
Im gna post some pics up in a bit of the welders job. Not 100% finished as of yet but im gna let the paintshop do their bit to finalise it as they said they would want to do it themselves!!!! Im just gna grind it back a bit get it flatter as hes penetrated both sides of the seam. Im then gna zinc it all, rubberised seam sealer, tiger seal then undershultz again before i hit it with all the paint and laquer!!!!

Re: OK HERE GOES THE CLEAN UP...ROT OUT!!!
Well so far the rust has been cut out and new metal welded in. As said before its only 80% done, but its is once again SOLID. Ive got to clean it up a bit and leave it for the bodyshop to do their thang., But under the arches i can finish the undersealing etc off and add the last 3 or 4 coats of mercury to the whole underneath and then the laquer!!
Filler cap area
Same arch near the waxoil plug.
Other Arch
And the new front panel fitted with a bit of seam sealer also!!
All in all it looks good, the pics shadow alot making it seem a bit naff, but rest assured when im finished with it, it will be as new again, and then it goes for paint when ive fitted all the refurbished running gear!!!

Re: OK HERE GOES THE CLEAN UP...ROT OUT!!!
Fuel Tank with first 3 coats of etch primer
Firs 3 bits unwrapped from the powdercoaters!!!
Rear Bay Bracket
Oil Sump
Fuel Filter Bracket
Ive only really unwrapped these so far but ive got another 26 bits of the underside running gear all done (pics to follow). Ive still got to take more to the coaters and shotblasters such as, hubs (front and rear), callipers, steering rack, brake lines, fuel lines, LOADS AND LOADS MORE, and thats not mentioning all the items to be renewed such as nuts bolts washers and all the items to get ready for the Zinc Passivator!!!!
Im inbetween so many stages of re finishing things such as caoting, painting, Zinc-ing, that im getting a bit confused as to the order of which bits to get done first!! AND thats not forgetting my Engine sitting at Burtons awaiting me pick it up from the overhaul my mate has done!!!!

Re: OK HERE GOES THE CLEAN UP...Small update
Right been scurrying away in the depths of the garage so im just gna add a little update as to where i am!!!
All the welding has been finished...now ive managed to find a bit that needs doing underneath where the brake compensators sit, not a major problem as my mate is letting me grind out a bit from his old scrapped mk3!!!
Been down to the zinc passivators last week and got loads done. All the alternator running gear, gear linkage rods, turbo oil lines, brake compensators actuator sump bolts, rear beam bolts a whole bag of washers and bolts, all the throttle brackets and clips, engine mount brackets, rubber hose clips and brackets, fuel tank holder washers...loads more but cant think!!!
Ive also had every piece of underside running gear shotblasted and powdercoated gloss black, as i feel its alot shinier and looks beaut.
All standard shocks, full standard suspension setup refurbed, hubs front and rear, wishbones, fuel filter bracket, coil pack bracket, rear engine panels ARb front and rear, with brand new bushes, new spare wheel carrier and bracket, new indicators, bonnet catch p.coated jack and brace, oil dipstick tube, first aid kit holders new radio, new carpet, new decals all over the place!!!!
THE LIST IS ENDLESS!!! Oh and all new underside fuel brake clips front arch liners and clips, Drop links, wheel cylinders wheel bearings etc etc......
Pics ( some ) to follow very soon!!!!!

Re: OK HERE GOES THE CLEAN UP...small update
Painted the fuel tank in aluminium silver, but then werent happy with some of the scratches under the paint so ive sent it off to be blasted cold then im gna repaint...cant get it powdercoated due to oven temps melting the swirl pot!!!
Didnt even realise that this had happened at some point!!!
Coated the archliner screws in hard silver which have turned out goodish!!!
Bought a stash of brand new gen ford underside clips etc

Re: OK HERE GOES THE CLEAN UP...small update
Bought this from a friend at Burton Power...
Now call me fussy....As the old mk3 trays are not available from fords anymore, and i wanted the older style tray, i sourced this..
Shaved out all the surface rust and it turned out like this......SOLID.
But since this pic its been sent to the shotbalsters for an extra measure of treatment so when it goes on its better than new!!!
Cleaned up the stub axles and front hub parts...
Then i knocked all the brake lines back ready for the powdercoaters again, and hes got a shade of green slightly brighter to compliment the underside and compliment the silver powdercoated fuel lines!!!

Re: OK HERE GOES THE CLEAN UP...More Pics
Cheers for the comments chaps...
YES im entering it in concourse next season more than likely. Gna be totally original spec with new steering wheel and gearnob, apart from the black parts will be gloss black instead of satin as on a personal note i think it looks cleaner. Might go modified if i get my Comps refaced and coated with stainless and AVOs.....Had a word with Fast Ford aswell regarding a feature early next year.
Trying to source some p600 pirellis aswell but i doubt ill get them...
Regards edd.

Not losing interest, just awaiting the rest of my powdercoated bits to come back, then i can start reassembling the underside.
Spoke to the engine builder today and he said as soon as the car has gone to be painted he will finish the rebuild as he wants it to be fresh rather than sit around waiting for me collect, so hes gna finish it as soon as he gets the go-ahead!!!
