Re: OK HERE GOES THE CLEAN UP...NEW BITS!!!
ok nice one mate,
there would be no rush for the car, take aslong as you would need, all cash upfront,
i no its hard to give a figure of your labour costs, but please have a think as im truly stuck as to where to get it done,
obviously it wouldnt go as much in depth as yours, ie you have tonnes of new parts, but the main thing im really looking to have is the shell fully strip and treated as you have done on your spit. then ill get everything zinc / powder coated or painted etc etc as we go along like yours

Re: OK HERE GOES THE CLEAN UP...NEW BITS!!!
Thanks for the comment mate....
So far mate, to get the bits shotblasted then powdercoated, and i mean everything that needs it down to gearbox brackets, fuel lines and brake lines, ( id say 80 bits) i suppose roughly £200 -250. Its all been done in du-pont which has higher chip resistance.
The company i use are really good and any problems that i get (aint had none yet) theyll always redo if required.

Re: OK HERE GOES THE CLEAN UP...BAY STARTED!!
Been a while since my last update, and ive managed to start prepping the bay.
The reason for me doing this and not the paintshop is because i want to get it rolling with the underside complete, and not have to piss around getting the paintshop to mask around the steering components and fuel lines etc where they enter the bay!!!!
Heres a few of the underside as it is with fuel tank and a few of the brand new clips...
Some new black passivated suspension bolts etc...
Some running gear pre fitted ...
Look at theses puppies...Fully refurbed and paint coded standars springs!!!..

Re: OK HERE GOES THE CLEAN UP...NEW BITS!!!
As some might remeber i had that horrible rusty bit in the bay which had to go!!!
So the plate was cut from an xr2i, shaped primed and waiting for me to get around to welding it into position...
During the welding and grinding phase....
Lovely to be able to just climb into the bay on the rollover jig!!!
After grinding the welded plate back, it was KURUSTED the zinc painted to stop any rusting in future...before being filled with chemical metal. I then knocked it all back into shape and tried to get as best shape as poss before primering...

Re: OK HERE GOES THE CLEAN UP...NEW BITS!!!
This is how im gna leave it as im satisfied i cant get it any better and you wont see alot of it when the engine etc is back in!!!..
This part where im pointing at will be fully seam sealed in a day or two before more primer, knocking the whole bay back again in 800 wet and dry ready for masking for paint!!!
Just got to wait for the remainder of my freshly powdercoated brake lines to come back and my wishbones to be powdercoatd, then its ready to be bolted back up on the underside with original orange, blue and pink paint flicks on the nuts etc!!

Re: OK HERE GOES THE CLEAN UP...BAY PRIMED ETC
Thanks for the comments....
Been busy this week but managed to re.do a few bits that i werent happy with on the underside.
On one of the chassis rails it was dented quite badly, where i used to jack it up and a few people on here noticed it. This bugged me to a point where i thought boolloox and angle grinded the dented part of the chassis rail out, put it in a vice and made the piece totally flat again. i
I then managed to weld it back into place, grind the welds perfectly, zinc prime, and undershultz it all ready for painting again. it looks totally factory again now. Ill try and update the pics later tonight.
Thanks for the comments again!!!!
