Thanks for the comments people

...and yes i have thought about using a trailor etc, BUT... only if the dust on the road and moisture content in the air doesnt cause any panic!!!!

George...The rollover spit is coming with me in the new year when ill be restoring FRST Silvers RS Fiesta for him!!!! :D

Luca...The springs have been shotblasted and powdercoated with Du-Pont powdercoat. The paint flicks were done using a 10mm artists brush with Enamel paints (humbrol). :D

Small update:

The car is back on the axle stands and the rear beam and AVOs (temp) on. Just got to build up the rear hubs again usung all new gen ford parts, and then i can drop the rear onto its wheelies!! :D

Did buy a set of front wheel bearings but after 2wks they havent turned up, so ive got to buy some others then get them pressed into the front hubs. Once this id done i can get the drop links ( cannot find any gold ones anywhere!!) and the whole car is ready to be rolled out of the garage and then a big tidy up, ready for the new carpet to be laid!!!

Cheers Fellas!!!... :D

Small updates....

Went to fords last week and bought some new bits and bobs....

Image

Image

Also got a few new fuel feed hoses from Fords for the bay area!!! :Q

Car is now on axles stands awaiting drop links. I have bought some new Brembo front disks and pads, and gen Ford rear brake internals well cheap!!!

The only thing ive got to do is repaint the standard shocks again. I wasnt happy with some of the finishes so i got them shotblasted so now they are totally clean of crud and rust awaiting paint. Once it has dried in the oven i can fit the whole front and rear setup. The rear beam is on already awaiting new bolts for the powdercoated ARB clamps.

Hopefully by the end of next week it will be rolling.

Finally it will have

1) Brand new front Pads...Callipers...Disks...and Bearings on the front

2) Brand new Ford rear shoes, Levers and Fitting Kits for the rear with new bolts freshly painted!!!! :Q :Q

Updates and pics to follow..... :D

Its a mare already rob!!!

Because theres no bonnet on it etc etc, its proper bad watching all the dust settle on the fresh powdercoated stuff!!! Ive just had to get my car cover out and get it over it for the time being as ive been bricklaying for the last day ar so and the cement dust is well airborne!!

Also now its off the jig its a pain keep on stepping around it and all the gear layed out ready to go on. I havent stared at the underside for a week!!!

I think im gonna have to get a detailed wether forecaster for next year and any sign of rain i aint going to the show!!! :D

But to make me feel a bit better, i have just landed two new gearnobs to go with my new steering wheel!!! :Q

Ahh you got the correct strut tops (not that you wouldn't!) - do Ford still supply them like that?

When buying bits for mine I'm finding a lot of what were traditionally zinc plated parts now come painted silver instead.

Awesome mate.

FYI the factory fit shocks wouldn't have Motorcraft stickers on them; stickers are only on parts that are supplied via the parts network.

Are you sure about the colour code on shocks, I've never seen that on a new car. Springs are correct and the colour match is absolutely perfect :o .

Thanks for the comments people... :Q

Excursion..The motorcraft sticker is only as an idea, as a new shock that mr2orange has for sale has the sticker on the leg.
However when i first got my Fez it still had the colour coded circles on the legs so i know for sure that, that bit is correct.

The other sticker that i might replace the motorcraft sticker with is the white ford sticker that goes on the bottom of the legs. This has the number copied from the stamped number on the leg i.e... Motorcraft K8N7A - O.L.C AND BELOW IT...V90FB - 18076 - AB. Ill see which i prefer as either brakes it up a bit and imo looks good. :Q

Thanks for the comments tho geezas...every little helps!!! :D

Hahaha!!! Johny and rsturbonutter.....I hope it doesnt see rain ever again, BUT........I already thought of that....

The ford stickers have already been coated in a plastic film on front and is coated in plastic double sided to the rear!! :Q :Q

Anyway ive got some new stickers that might replace them now, as excursion says they are for only parts bought over the counter and wouldnt have been on a factory vehicle!!!

Shock sticker updates to follow!!!

yep, im sure walker was, well for the series 1 rs turbo it was, some had walker or ford logo stamped on them. im sure someone will know if is the same for the fiesta, but ideally you want a ford stamp on it, can see exhausts making a mint soon like the series 1 systems.

im still after a brand new brake servo!
