Re: Fiesta RS Turbo Restoration...Updated again!!!!!!
indeed mate.
if your that bothered you could put a smear of gasket sealer/loctite on it, i think i used blue gasket sealer when i put mine back in, but then again, it was a little tight coming out, had to "undo" it with the rachet and the turning made it find its own way out.
still, if you havent had probs before, theres no reason you will now, if anything with it plated, it might be a tighter fit

Re: Fiesta RS Turbo Restoration...Updated again!!!!!!
Dave, ive had the car for 15 years now. Was nudging 73k before i sent the engine away for a new cam and a few other refreshments.
The first owner (name telephone and address in folder) had the car for 6 months. He had his first white one stolen hence why my car was fitted with deadlocks on the doors and boot. He then sold it to quicks of Chester in px for a new 4x4 cosworth.
The 2nd owner (name, telephone and address aswell) had the car from 6months old until i bought it. He bought it as a retirement present for himself when he turned 60 as it was the top of the range fiesta at the time.
He traded in a 15,000 mile xr2i for my Turbo, which was on 5,071 miles. The car was mostly driven by his wife. With the history he had the bill of sale, every Tax disk, mots, even paperwork for a flat battery back in 1992, aswell as all service books.

Top work as usual Eddie
I'm sure you'll agree that you're probably going to make this virtually undriveable now,
I know that if it was mine it would go everywhere in a covered trailer,
I know there's people out there saying that they are built to be driven, but when you get a car to this standard they really shouldn't be driven imo
Are you still on target for Central Day ?

Re: Fiesta RS Turbo Restoration...Updated again!!!!!!
Yes mate i totally agree with the undriveable part, but to be honest it never went out in the rain anyway and will only be driven to shows and the odd nice weekend!!!
Im gna try and trailor it as theres alot of stuff to fit in the car..ramps, undercar carpet etc etc, but if push came to shove id get to shows mega early or camp and then give it a full valet....
Im hoping for central day as ive just dropped the rear and the parts will be back wednesday so it will be fully rolling by next weekend!!!
Trying to bargain for 6 weeks to get it painted, and re-fit everything inc engine and gearbox painted etc!!!!
Thanks for the comments mate!!!

Cheers Geeza!!!
Just forgot which way round the spring goes into the top suspension cup ...Its large coil to the bottom and small end into the top cup i think, but its a two man job to try and compress the spring for the gold cover and race to be bolted on....I aint using spring compressors on these springs!!!

Small coil to the bottom, there should be a groove that matches up with the 'pig tail'. It''s the opposite way to what you'd expect

Nice and shiny what does it cost to get plating done. Is it calculated per item?

Re: Fiesta RS Turbo Restoration...Tiny Update!!!!!!
Thanks People!!!
No mate, Its done on per bucket load or somethink....
Ive got a friend in the trade and it doesnt cost me alot at all. Some people..... like KK Plating in Dagenham charge obscene amounts to do it and others dont charge alot.
I suppose a shop would have charged me £150 for all of the above, but im not 100% sure as places differ.
