Re: Fiesta RS Turbo Restoration....Stage 1 of Paint.
Thanks Chaps...
Hopefully the bodyman will be doing his stuff on saturday, and then continuing it through next week. I am looking forward to seeing a fresh merc grey car again, with a "proper" paint job on it. Im 100% confident that their work will be to the best of their ability.
The workshop is always full of vans and cars having work done to them, in ultra clean environment. The owner, who was recommended to me by a friend in the Essex RSOC, always drops what hes doing to come over and shake the mitt, and show me to my fez, parked up in the special resto zone!!!!
The bodyman told me that he wasnt happy with my welded bits that i had done, so he re did them in his own time and has done a pukka job so far......
Updates to follow fellas!!!

Re: Fiesta RS Turbo Restoration....Stage 1 of Paint.
Ive now tried to replicate the sticker that Fraggle posted for me....Not sure what the colour sequence is, but from what i can make out, i produced this other sticker....
Looks a bit more original but ill wait on the correct colouring ( i think it might all be yellow without the white ) then try and get it bang on!!!!

Thats pretty s**t hot that
try doing it straight onto plain white paper fella..and try abusing it abit, give it some age/pattina, just needs a more matt finish..
the original one deffo looks paper thin and would have been glue pasted..
need to learn Italian then give em a ring see if got any originals lying around, that'll keep the OCD busy

You've done a cracking job as usual! Did these definitely come on Ford supplied cars though? I thought stickers are only on retail market tyres, not OEM/showroom vehicles?

Re: Fiesta RS Turbo Restoration....Stage 1 of Paint.
Cheers Mark,
I doubt the cars came with the stickers on the tyres, the reason im putting them on is merely due the fact that these are for the car tyres when at shows ( as they will never be driven on )
It just promotes the fact that ive managed to get hold of 5 original unused tyres that the car would have been wearing when new.
More of a subtle touch than anything else. All the oldskool concourse boys do it so i thought id follow suit...

Carpets!!!! Yeah you guessed it Davey boy....
My mates ol man gave me some brand new carpet 20 ft x 10ft to lay down. Just smoothing out the floor and gna put some damp seal down in case then roll out the carpet!!! Its a nice bright green with a grey floral pattern...proper retro and funky!!! ( beggers and choosers and all that) Ill see how it looks but i might get some black carpet if it looks sheeeite!!!

Haha, brilliant, thought as much!
That should stop the damp attacking!
Have you thought of a dehumidifier too? Or even a carcoon?

Re: Fiesta RS Turbo Restoration....Stage 1 of Paint.
Ed I know you like your stickers and an original car
Just wondered if you have though about the little gel type stickers on the inside boot kind of triangular shape. I have just got myself a good condition mk3 boot and only noticed the stickers when stripping the glass etc out and immediately thought of you
With the way your going about your restore you have probably already sourced them but if you haven't I thought I would mention them.
