Re: OK HERE GOES THE RESTO!!!! More Pics!
Thanks for the replies chaps, its hopefully gonna be good when done. I spoke to the fella whos gonna be painting it, and hes currently working on 3 Mustangs, so i think ive made my mind up whos painting it!!!
Right a few more piccies to show ya how its come on since!!
Masked up the areas that i wanted undersealed, ready for the topcoats...
I did take a few of the finished item but deleted some, but heres one for ya!!
Anyway, finished doing the underneath now and the front and rear arches also. Only "dusted" the underseal into the inner wings as the arch liners will be in place, but coated it onto the rear under arches!!!
Once that was done and i had finished the underside, i decided to have a proper look under it.....
....BUT why climb underneath or stand in the dark areas of the garage when i can do this!!!!!
Anyway this is what the underside looks like from the overside!!!
All Comments welcome, Hope ya like!!!!

Re: OK HERE GOES THE REST...MORE PICS!!!
Ta for the comments .....Gna paint the underside with the base coat on saturday then get the laquer and hardener!!!
Hopefully my rear arches will be here on thursday ready for the new rear arch lips as theres a few bits that need doing, such as the lower rear arch on both sides and the piece by the rear swage below the fillercap!!! Also gna change the front lower vallance as its got a bit of surface rust on it and a few little digs!!!!

Looking good pal do like this car,
were you not tempted to repair the chassis rails while you were at it,looks like someone has crushed one a bit jacking it up?

Re: OK HERE GOES THE REST...Underside coats!!
Still might do the chassis rail mate, it was me as the guilty one who jacked it up long time ago, il see what i can do!!!
Just a few pics of the underside as ive managed to hit it with a few coats of Merc Grey.
Didnt come out too bad, but i think im gna try and do another few coats before I laquer the underneath on monday....
Rear vallance which will stop stone flicks etc under the bumper.
Rear and front lower area of the engine bay...
Rear Arch..
And just a few of the underneath from different angles...
Thats all for the time being until monday when i get some more paint and the laquer...
Hope ya like so far!!!

Re: OK HERE GOES THE CLEAN UP...Updates
Right, small update.
After doing the rear arches in the first few coats, a bit of underseal lifted. Upon further inverstigationand a screwdriver going through the inner arch i found a 6 inch x 6 inch load of rot under the original ford underseal and on the other side a smaller hole where the waxoil plugs are.
Ive ground out the rot and am awaiting a new inner rear arch and ive already got two rear arches also, to attach inc petrol cap rot hole which should be ok as its not too bad tbh!!! and a welder to come on friday to fix both arches and the inners once and for all. ( Pics to follow shortly ) One step forward, three back!!!
On a happier note i recieved all my running gear back from the powder coaters today, namely sump guard, sump, wishbone carriers, gearbox cradle, rear beam and brackets, rocker cover, gearbox mount brackets, inside seatbelt rails, coil pack holder, steering rack, map sensor bracket, fuel filter holder, gearbox rods, brake servo brackets, rear wheel holder, and a few other odds and sods..
Also brand new indicators, rear boot first aid box and ford elastic holder (nice touch), new rear beam bushes from fords, brand new ford bonnet catch, zinc passivated rear wheel holder, (albeit a mk3.5 one)...All i can remember at the min.....
Pics to follow tonight!!

thats a bit of a $hit about the rot mate, but at least you found it now when someone can be done about it without hadly any extra work, i.e stripping it down once its finish to have it done

Re: OK HERE GOES THE REST...First Coats!!!
Yeah is a pain mate, but to be honest once its done itl be fresh again.
In fairness i wanted to strip the rear arches inside, but its so thick with the fords stuff i thought id leave it, but once the welders been at it, il just build it back up again, its not that bad tbh!!!!! Just shows what can be hiding if ya dont look properly
