Fiesta RS Turbo Restoration...FINISHED ITEM CONCOURSE PICS.
Re: Fiesta RS Turbo Restoration....Update..Paint stage 6...
Fraggle, im not sure mate. I didnt ask him.
Im pretty confident hell do a good enough job. Put it this way, that red Mustang in the pic had been driven straight from a £5k paint job to where my car is, to be fully repainted as the paintjob was shocking!!!!

Was merely being inquisitive mate as coming from that line of work you kinda(if a bit sad like me ) enjoy the processes of how you get to the paint stage more so than actually seeing it finished tbh...Sad i know
Either way she's coming along swimmingly
...Reckon FF is still do-able mate?

Make sure you go down to watch it getting sprayed, kinda cool if it's your own car and if you have never seen a car being sprayed.

Re: Fiesta RS Turbo Restoration....Update..Paint stage 6...
Been to paint shop today a.m.
There been a bit of progress, but not a huge amount, mainly due to the fabricator whos doing it has been on an "advanced panel technicians examination and testing week". The car is in first stage of primer with only the roof and tailgate to go before the final heat and rub down. I reckon 3 weeks and shel be wearing her new coat!!!
Anyways, heres some snaps!!!!
Filler cap side all done (well nearly!!)
Sill with rust cut out, plated and primed...
Down the rear panel....Absolutely straight as a die!!!
Rear filler area...
Front slam panel nearly there...
Bonnet getting nice and dusty!!!
But the underneath is still recognisable, bit dusty but its got to be sprayed down after its all been done, before the paint goes on in the booth!!!
Thats it for now...If anyone can see any problems or negative things then hurry up and let me know so it can be rectified before it goes for paint!!!

I don't think there's anything negative, as far as i can see.
At first i thought the rear panel wasn't straight, because i dind't look right on the picture with the rear mouldings (test)fitted. I didn't see, that it's loose on the downside.

Re: Fiesta RS Turbo Restoration....New Piccies!!
Hahaha!!! Yes mate, its gotta be oven hardened then the final rub down to see it theres any panel imperfections or filler sinkage. If not then its ready to go for final paint.
I was chatting to the painter today, he had nothing but praise for the fabricator and he said even he cant wait to paint it now!!!!! Which is a good thing!!!

Re: Fiesta RS Turbo Restoration....New Piccies!!
Thankyou mate....Unfortunately it is looking like next years shows now!!!
Its been in painters nearly 11 weeks now, and im def not gonna rush it for a few odd shows mate. Bit of a shame, but it will give me time to get it bang on.
Nothing worse than rushing it for end of the year shows then thinking...hmmmm, i could av done that better etc when its on show!!!
Im gna get some proper photos done of it by my nephew, whos a photographer, then im gna call a friend at Fast Ford Mag, to get a full feature on it over the winter months which should be good!!!

It's good stuff. It means the panels will end up much straighter than using the regular process, even when stopper is used. It takes a lot more time in the prep stage so 99% of bodyshops (in out jobs) don't do it.
