Well why not keep the cossy one on and figure out a way of fitting it with a green strip to go with the rest of the car so it looks more factory?? I'v not seen that done before so could be quite origional.

I am trying to decide what splitter to use on my foci as I dont want to go down the usual rieger front bumper/splitter route.

i have thought about that mate, to do it so it looks light i would have to put a recess in for it, due to the design of the cossie bumper i could only reallt pull it off round the sides, like the mk2 xr2s if you like, although it would be fairly easy to put a recess in and put the strip in i think to a point it would look toss, but in saying that if someone wants to knock up a photo shop and post it up feel free :)

refit standard bumper ....

you know it makes sense - and the car's value will go up too :D

Mine certainly did by removing all the excess and fitting original parts

In the passion of max modding things got out of hand when we were fiberglass a custom ICE install into the wheel so it got kinda messed up....It's well wicked though id'n it

you know what mate, the more i think about it the more i will leave it one, them wheels i got on there are fairly rare, you dont see them, ive seen 2 other sets in the near 10 years ive had them 1 set was in hounslow where i used to like and the other on a saxo in revs years ago, and im taking them off for 16 inch mondeos so although some people hate the wheels on it its keeps it different, but i got a xr2 im getting sso the 15's will go on that and i fear it will slip into "just another red one"

Well I'v had a go mate but it just doesn't work with that bumper unless you put short buts at the sides upto the headlight sprayers and then down the middle but even then it looks crap. I would still leave tyhe cossy bumper on thaugh :D

cheers guys, yeah i have put a lot of graft into it ram, and its still not done, and it wasnt even a proper restore
i havent touched the car in 2 months, i do have money to get it sorted but cos its cold i dont want to risk paint going wrong so im not going to risk it at this point, plus being winter its not the best time to get it on the road, although i can drive slower to run it in

anyway, i will be picking up my new run a round and next project tomorrow, a C reg mk2 XR2, thats cost me £250 and it only got a days mot  so will spend the money o got on that, its more than i wanted to spend on one but hey, a run around and project car in one for that price is good i think, considering they go for more on ebay and its in fairly good nick.
will add pics here when i got it.

Some people do, put a couple of round Velcro pads on the front and if you get pulled say your plate fell off and you'll get it sort straight away :D

it aint worth it mate, i remember few years back i had to paint the bumper again thanks to some c*nt hitting it and cracking the top and fcuking off, still, yeah i had it done and it was about 10 days maybe 2 weeks before i got round to getting sticky pads to put the plate back on, i had it in the windscreen though which could be seen easy, but the hassle at petrol stations, they would come out and walk round the back look, take a note of it and then walk back and put the pump on   funny first couple of times, but got a joke after that seeing as i use the same petrol station even now

i see yoiu removed the badge from the bonnet, good call, i never had it on there till the filler in the hole started to crack, the guy that done it for me (filled and painted at work for free :Q ) used a fiberglass matt and filler, had he welded it like i said and like ive now done it wouldnt of happedns, but shes welded now and i cant see a badge going back on :D

im hoping to pick the xr2 up tonight, if not then tomorrow :Q

well the update is this, the car is now being left till next year, its got to cold to finish painting as the place its at has no heaters and im not gunna risk crappy finish due to dampness or the cold, plus a fact i dont really want to get it on the road in the winter, i would rather it in summer so i can enjoy it more :Q
so for now, it will be set for the winter, the battery out, and crap removed from in side to allow air to get round it all and work will continue next year.

the plans i had for it with buying new rocker arms and oil coolers etc etc are also on hold, mainly becuase ive spent some of the money
since having to sell my 1.3 mk3.5 fez run around few months ago ive got pi$$ed of with no car, so ive bought another, and the best bit is it will be a daily driver, and next year will be a project,. when the rs is done that is, and i shall start a new thread about this car in a mo.
this is the car, a C reg mk2 xr2 in red :Q
im not gunna bang on about it in here and clog this thread up, see the thread about it here

my-new-run-around-and-my-next-project-mk2-xr2-vt159854/

any comments on the xr2 please put in the xr2 thread :Q

Re: fiesta rs turbo rebuild (56K, NO NO) updated 1/11/07

Postby jayrs on Sun Dec 16, 2007 3:17 am

im starting to get itchy feet about my rs, i checked on it the other day for the first time in about a month :oooh: and all was well, took the battery out as it was flat as fcuk and bought it home, its being charged and will be trickle charged for a day every few weeks to keep it in good order seeing as it was abrand new battery in august (thanks to 4 year warrenty on the old one  ) anyway, i was looking at it gleaming at me in its sorry state and thought, i really do need to get ths back on the road, so althoguh plans i make tend to take a long time to happen or dont happen through different reasons this one will, i asure you.
those that have been following this rebuild will be aware of the sort of building its in, i.e with 3 bloody big rooms, well the deviding wall between the garage and the room to the side is only a stud wal l and supports nothing and this will be coming down when the machine shop is set up, but i will be doing that sooner, with that the wooden floor in the next room is also being replaced, this will mean that i can get my rs in that room which give much more room than the current room its in meaning it can be painted in there, yes im spraying again  , and with minor thigns put up like plastic to lower the roof (to keep heat down) a heater will be put in there and extraction added and thus it will be warm enough to paint.
the problem i have had before is having to move the car after its been painted, ok not a major problem in it self but still annoying seeing as the masking has to be ripped off to see whare your going etc, but with this it can be painted any time of the day, or night  and left alone, so the little bits of crap that ive picked up in the paint in the past shouldnt happen, and of course, having that extra room, means i can put the car back together without having to push it out to start, then back in when it starts to get dark etc, i can work all round it when i want for as long as i want, and the space can be used to the machines later and even the xr2 when that starts to be done but thats a different story.

in case your wondering why i didnt do this from the start its simple, its not my property, its my aunt and uncles, and that room was proper full of crap, but last year the machines came over about may time and the room was cleared, and the whole floor bar about 10% of it is rotton through uncle said he would pay for the wood ect and me and my dad re do the floor, no probs, unfortunatly he had a stroke not long after and it all stopped, hes getting better now mind and i will be talking to them again in the new year to see if i can still do it, but this time at my cost, i cant see a problem, but i shall ask.

other than that, theres not much to report, ive not done anything to the car, and tbh, untill the floor is done or summer time gets here nothing will be.

but for now merry christmas everyone, cheers for the support and comments so far, and fingers crossed i can get my baby to her first show next year, hopfully FITP :D (as long as its not $hit weather like last year eh lads  )
