Re: fiesta rs turbo rebuild update 19/6 garage floor done
cheers guys, cant promise it will be at fordfair but im gunna do the best i can, even if that means i have to quick refurb the wheels that are already on it and forfit the tyres for the 16's for now.
chris, there not just doughnuts, there fcuking expensive doughnuts
right small update, after being relived of £245 of the queens finest a $hit load of ready mixed was ready to be dropped in.
was a bit more than we needed so we built the floor up another 2 inchs and slopped the last 4 foot down a tad other wise we would of had a shed load of cement to try and find a home for still it dont matter, it will be a better base for the machines at a later stage.
rs will be in there monday or tuesday where it will be emptied of all its crap and work will continue
hmm, what i can i do that old boot lid and pair of 1600 zetec cams
to think , what couple weeks or so agao it looked like this
now

its very bad mate, we have 2 whippys and there a mile apart,
still if you want a kebab theres fcuking loads of places all over the island you can get them
rushing makes mistakes
you know my dad did say to me i would lose interest and it will take longer than 6 months, of course i said, "yeah b0llocks it will be done and on the raod in 6 months i'll make sure of it"
well

That floor looks great man. Such a huge difference. Now it actually looks like a garage lol.
Are there actually any real advantages of living over there then???

indeed it does mate, cant wait to get the rs finished and get the xr in there, well i say that i should relly get this workshop up and running but just like the rs, no rush na it will happen.
erm advantages to living on the isle of wight, hmm
no hussle and bussle like the mainland (although i miss that )
easier way of life-ish
quite etc, i could walk out my door right now and not hear a thing and i live in the centre of the island near the town
oh and i should say, i have left my rs unlocked before over night, the door was even open a tad, as it was shut on the first catch, and still like it in the morning, un touched.
next door to me, old girl left her front door key in the door for 2 fcuking days , untouched.
not that thats the sort of thing you would do but i guess we been lucky.
to sum the isle of wight up and depending on what you want out of life/the area you want to live in, its a nice place to visit but you really wouldnt wanna live here

Re: fiesta rs turbo rebuild update 21/6 oops! 6 stiches!
well today me and my dad decided to have a look at the roof of the room that we just done the floor in as the sky light glass has slipped and left gaps.
its a easy fix which is good, and best of all the floor has gone off bloody rock hard, it must of been a right strong mix, and i ordered 5-1 mix , anyway based on the fact it was hard as fcuk i though i would pop the rs in there today
so we started to move the 10 fiberglass roofing sheets that were in the way, (you can see them in the picture on my last post) and all was well, untill the last one , it catch a old rusty spot light, and a bit of mirrored glass fell out, hit a bit of rope and fell on me , hit me right in the forehead and blood pi$$ed all over the new floor!
so a trip to hospital was needed, tbh if it wasnt for my dad insisting i wouldnt of bothered, and although i wanted to still move the rs before going he wouldnt have none of it
needed 6 stiches , its gotta leave a scar for sure , still on a brighter note, had it fell the other way when it hit the rope theres a good 80% change it would of hit the rs and dented and scrached the wing up, then i would of been really pi$$ed so there it is, not a great update but goes to show no pain no gain eh
oh and while i remember, i was down fords this morning getting a bit for the wifes car and the paint work on a red focus rs was a bit disapointing, the paint on my rs wing which im not happy with is better , so if ford can get away with a finish like that and it looks good, im not gunna be so fussy now, i want that rs done!

Feck me Jay you'll go to any extent to get out of this RS build Only messin mate, looks pretty nasty but better your head than the RS or we would have had to wait until........ well i think we would be driving hydrogen powered cars
I'm glad most things are looking up on the build mate, as for Ford paint i know exactly what you mean, the paint on my Sierra wasn't the best when it was painted and i told my man that, he said i thought you wanted me to replicate the original Ford finish Cheeky baxtered but he has a Ford Ka in the yard in a similar colour to mine and he said check out the finish on that and it's pretty textured in the finish too he says they are renowned for s**t finishing.
Well mines back in for a complete flat and polish so i hope it's like glass whens it out.

Re: fiesta rs turbo rebuild update 21/6 oops! 6 stiches!
yeah its fairly bad, didnt really hurt when it happend considering it was a fair chunk of glass that fell from about 12 foot im sure it was down to the bone too but yeah, it throbbed a bit, headache was the worse but thats gone now and yeahm, better my head than the rs, my head can heal, the dent in the rs wouldnt, but its not put me off, as said if i was there on my own, apart from smashing the $hit out of the rest of the light i would of just carried on
the rs isnt gunna be put in there monday, after the even of the glass falling on me from the light, were gunna sort the sky light glass out before the rs goes in, just in case that decideds its given up and wants to come crashing down, better it hits the floor than my rs , so a slight delay again on the rs, but the flip side to that is the roof will take about a hour or so to sort not a day or 2 as i first thought so it evens it self out IMO.
chris, yeah i was trying to get a paint finish without any form of orange peel hence the wet flatting after and the reason i went through the paint , this time round a different, and better spray gun is gunna be used and it will hopfully give a better finish and just need a buff.
ive got to the point now where i want it on the road, if, unfortunatly that mean i have to (in my eyes) make do with the paint, then so be it, after all the time and person reasons/problems i in a way dont give a toss, ill get it as good as i can and if and when its needed, sort it out at a later date, it needs driving

Fair comments there Jay i can appreciate your gagging to get back behind the wheel again, the paint on mine this is the first car thats been painted in ppg as apposed to 2pack so i thought that had something to do with it.
I get mine back Monday and i'm hoping it's as smooth as glass

Re: fiesta rs turbo rebuild update 21/6 oops! 6 stiches!
nasty, it's always the small bits of glass that make the deepest cuts. A friend lacerated his arm and almost bled to death from a tiny 1' x 0.5' window falling onto his arm - the corner landed on his forearm and rotated before falling out - dug a hole 1" wide in his arm and severed an artery
Glad to see you're getting there now - hopefully it'll be done in time for FF

Re: fiesta rs turbo rebuild update 21/6 oops! 6 stiches!
thats nasty
this bit of glass that hit me was approx, 7 inch wide at the bottom, 3ish insh wide at top and prob about 8-9 inch long (guessing from what i remember here) and was a few mm thick and fell from about i would say 12 foot up
just think of the damage it would of done if it had hit the rs
oh and it was mirrored glass, and it hit me, then hit the floor and broke in 2, so whats the score with the bad luck as the mirrow broke after it tryed to kill me

It's the beginning of 7 years bad luck now mate. Best stop work and wrap the FRST up for a while
nah, the fact it hit you and not the RS means it's just you with sh*t luck
