nah, the fact it hit you and not the RS means it's just you with sh*t luck

Re: fiesta rs turbo rebuild update 24/6 oops! 6 stiches!
ok today was spent sorting the roof of the garage, we done that just fine
we also removed what was left of the light that dropped a bit of glass on me, and heres the bit that hit me
and if you look up at the top of the next pic right in the middle your seel the light and just how high it was
not happy about the blood stains on my new floor mind you its still wet
right, seeing as the roof was done and i had smashed the bit of mirror that hit me we moved the rs into the next room, couldn't reverse it in as didnt have enough swing at the front so drove it but, but the car cut out when i tried to drive it in, battery flat, WTF, yeah thats right, the fcuking alternator isnt charging the battery the wiring is new and i fitted a new connector and it hasnt seen the road since so i dont think the wiring is at fault but ill check it but worse case i need a new alternator now
shouldnt of broke that fcuking mirror
anyway the xr2 batter was put on it and it was put in
that ladies and gents is the last time it moves untill its done! and as you can see theres plenty of room, just got to rig up a strip light in there and replace 3 pains of glass in the small window then i will be cracking on with the rs

Cracking stuff Jay, it seems that the couple of weeks hard graft are really paying off.
So what are you predictions of time to get the paint on the car and polished, then to build the car back up and on the road????

on the final stretch now
I really like the new garage, perfect size for what you need - hopefully you have enough time to get the RS finished
keep the glass as a souvenir

its a sign were getting ol i fear mate, mind you 1am in the moring in valetine day in tesco with 3 blokes looking at the half dozen $HIT! cards left holding the half dead flowers is a laugh
anyway back on track, yes mate, prep and paint,, i got kids sports day thursday 9how dare they! ) and gotta help my dad work on my sisters car friday and prob saturday as the sub frame is rotton on her metro
but if all goes to plan (fingers crossed!!!!) it should be getting paint by end of next week.
emptied the car out today, re-alined the boot lid and bolted it down right, and washed the car, well, wipped it over to get the mank off it that has built up, so all being well, its all systems go now, cant see any reason why the car wont be finished for fordfair, but its if ill have enough money to get there, tax, mot, change insurance, ferry fare, petrol

Re: fiesta rs turbo rebuild update 11/7, paint! again
right update time, good news and bad.
good news is its been painted, again, bad new is it sill needs something repainted
when the car was done it was done without the bonnet so the scuttle could be done, however, even though we had a extractor this time there was some crap in the paint in the roof and we dunno why , so the roof was flatted again and masked up to be painted with the bonnet, which we done today, now the roof and bonnet came out fine, we had to shoot off and get more hardner came back to find a lump of crap right smack bang in the middle of the bonnet and a fcuking fly that had done a 4 inch commando crawl un it just off centre so not fcuking happy
anyway, bonnet will just have to be done again, and when i say im starting to lose patients with this car belive me, i really fcuking am! no wonder i let it 9 months before going back to it.
i wasnt gunna update untill the car was painted and buffed and put together, but today just seems to of been a bad day so though b0llocks, ill update, hopfully someone is still following this thread and reading some comments would put me in a better mood.
the pics below are in order, some from last week, some from today.
oh and i done another $hit job last night, i removed all the sticky foam tape from the green strips im gunna put on, bloody tips of my fingers feltfunny for ages after
right ill shut it now and let you view the pics, im happy with the paint work for now, i would say its show contion paint and im in 2 mins to bring it to a show to show or not, but hey ho, heres the pics for now
hired this bad boy, that cost me £40 for the week
pic's from today
rear bumper before being flatted
thats it for the pic's, lets hope when i go tomorrow nothing else had decided to end there life by drowing in my fcuking paint!

Re: fiesta rs turbo rebuild update 11/7, paint! again
cheers guys.
yeah its had a fair few coats of paint, but a lot of it was flatted off but hey ho, $hit happens, im not a sprayer and will never be, and the conditions the car has been painted in, in the past have not been idle, and really even where it is now isnt the best, but its "have to do" sort of thing, had things been different, like better conditons, or money to have a body shop do it then things would of been different and it would of been on road ages ago
still, its as good as can be for now, i hope its good enough for showing, well what i would class as good enough for showing.
anyhow, went back out there today re done the bonnet and a couple other bits, like the front bumper, could see dark patches, nothing majour but still, it was the grey primer i know i should be using white primer but i had reaction problems so the grey was used, but still with another coat it cover it nice
just the black part on bottom of front bumper to do, and im putting the black bit back onto the rear spolier
will be quickly refurbing the wheels that are on it too, will try and do them over next few days, wanna leave paint a few days to harden right off before buffing, the joys of it not being in a oven
thats it for now, more updates as and when

cheeky fcuk, its easy to put back together, just gotta find all the bits and bobs now
update for today, took the wheels off, dug out 2 mondeo wheels and 2 pepper pots to put on for now , NICE!
the front passanger wheel kept going down which turned out to be the valve not sealing on the rim so i was gunna drop that in to be sorted before refurbing rim, but saw my dads mate on way home and gave it to him as hes gunna sort it for me
some more pics, just random shots from today
had some woman looking over the progress too
makes a dull wall look a bit better
and what could you do with left over paint, hmm
well you could start painting ya dads wheel barrow
and his trailer
just make sure theres enough to finish the job though
and the wheels waiting for refurb, the 4th was in the xr2 boot by the time i took pics before i left
thats it for now
