been out to the car again today, done mainly little bits tbh, replaced the 8mm head thermostat bolts with proper 10mm stainless jobies as i dont like the 8mm head ones fords do now.

put the heater cover on, wipers back in, back plate, etc see for ya self.

i had a issue with the main water pipe, it tends to slip between the cam cover and the inner wing, and it rubs, never have liked it but till now not got round to doing anything with it.
in amounst my tool boxes and robbers box (box of odds and sods) i came up with a little plastic clip, and a hose clip.
the hose clip was a spare that norm bolts on the gearbox and holds the large pipe to the thermostat housing (you know the one) so i cut and trimmed it and the plastic clip fitted the hole perfect :D
doesnt look professional i know but it does the job and thats what matters.

rest are just a few pics i took before wrapping her back up till tomorrow.

btw, the standard sturt tops are not staying, i have stainless ones to fit, but the stainless ones are more of a cover rather than a replacment

did do a little more on it yesterday, but it was little things really, after me and my dad had taken the compressor back to my uncles place (which is now broken cos my dad reversed into it and broke the pully wheel off   ) i had to set up the bonfire ready for the night then i had time to work on her.
connected some more pipes up, made up new pipes for acuator, run the last of the wiring and sorted all the bits out in the back of the car ready for fitting, like the rad etc but i was bloody cold and tbh couldnt be focked to carry on as it was getting on.

anyhow i didnt take any pics of the car as there wasnt much point really as it was only little bits that had been done, but the little bits that needed doing, like making sure all plugs on, all earths on, making sure the jubile clips that your putting on can be got at when everything is back on :oooh:

right was out there yesterday working on the car again, i knew i wouldnt get much done as it was intercooler time, and my pace intercooler needed modding as i didnt like the fit of it before.
as your see from the pics below, a old outer window seal was used on the lip of the front panel to provide some protection to the rad as well as the panel it self.
next up i done what i could to try and get the rad back into the postion its in as standard but the ideas i had cant be played out as the front lower valance isnt on yet so i dropped that idea as there is only i reckon a 25% chance what i had in mind would work but no matter, i stuck what the rad being moved again, not to happy about that because i cant really use the red samco top hose as the inch of so the rad is back makes the pipe start to kink and im not having that, so a standard top rad hose cut shorter (due to splits in the past  ) was just the job so that will stay for now as i dont really want to cut the samco top hose, but ill look out for a s/h red samco top hose which i will cut down   .

anyway back to the cooler, because the angle of the top boost pipe that comes out is too low, it caused the boost pipe to rub the top rad hose, not good and untill now i had a old bit of pipe wrapped round the rad hose to protect it.
but this time im not having that, ive cut the pipe in the intercooler and bent it up to the postion it should be with the cooler where i want it, i noted the angle and when i got home i cut the pipe off and angled it etc and will be taking it to a place in the morning to have a price on welding it, over the phone he said about a tenner but we're see, but he pretty good, i reckon tops £15.
your also see that ive glued some rubber to the side of the cooler also, this is to protect the front panel from the movment the cooler, which it will prob do, i did make a nice bracket to support the bottom of the cooler but i had problems fitting and removing the cooler with the bracket in place, and once the front valance goes on it might be near impossible so i dropped that idea and just fitted a rubber mount for it to rest on at the egde, and it makes it easy to get it in and out, but doesn't support as good as the bracket.
but it will be bolted from the top with a new mounting im fitting, this mounting is gunna be stainless steel glued on with focking strong glue as alloy doesnt like movent and cracks or breaks off, like the old ones did, so fingers crossed no probs there.
once the cooler is on though i will be making a bracket that fits to the rad and will fit to the cooler for added support but once its on and piped up i'll see what movment there is as it might not need it.

i also got some stainless bolts for my heat shield and charge pipe, oh and to replace the fixings on the rad.

right im gunna stop going on now, heres the pics of the most little amount of work down in a day    well there was a lot of messing about :bonkers:

you can see that the angle on the pace cooler is too low and the boost pipe touches the top rad hose, this is why i had to cut the cooler pipe and find the best angle for it. it will be welded at the angle i want, at the bottom your see the pipes cut ready for welding.

little update.

finished the bracket for the intercooler, the thin galvy steel bit looks a bit gash tbh so i fitted it anyway so i could get on and i will replace it with a stainless one or something at another time, i might even just paint it, cos its been cut down now so it doesnt look like it does in pic etc, just i left enough there so i could cut round where the hole was gunna be, if you follow.

the pictures tell it all, there not very good as they were taken on my mobile and it was near pitch black when i took them

anyhow, before anyone asks why i have a blue samco when the rest are red, well it came with the intercooler and i want a red one and have a wanted post up for one too, so if ya got one.....

anyhow when i get out there again which might be tuesday, but prob wednesday now im gunna get everything done in the bay,
ill also be fitting the front and rear brakes and wheels to the back.
im gunna drop the back down but leaving the front in the air for now untill ive have it started that way i can check for any leaks etc with greater ease

so thats it really.
oh you prob wont see from the pics but my stainless heat shield is now on.

Looks good.

But, i don't think the pace cooler is great?

Ford leads are best IIRC and it looks like that blue hose is just a 90deg bend which should be quite easy to find!

the pace cooler is a crappy fit, but it is a lot better than standard one and i hate front mounted ones tbh mate, they look good on some cars but not my thing mate.

yeah ford leads are prob best, but im having trouble finding red ones and its pissing me off cos the ones that were on the car when i got it were red.

if this place i was gunna get 10mm ones from havent got the red in when i order (as there made to order) then i'll go to fords, but these 10mm ones come with life time warranty aslong as you dont bust it by tugging the wire

shes always had 2 horns mate, from standard.
has yours not got 2 then?

looking to have it started by end off week, weather depending, cos if its pissing down like it was today not much is gunna get done again.

still, all brakes will be on and bleed (i hope) and the back end on wheels before shes fired into life, i wanna keep the front up so i can check for leaks/probs etc
