only a small one, painted the insides of the wheels today, dont see any point wasting time , money and paint (good paint from spray gun) on the insides of a set of wheels thats only gunna get cr@py anyway, so hand painted them with this aluminium paint my dad had, you can see its hand painted becuase of the brush strokes, but the pictures dont show it, but im happy with it anyway.

the face of the wheels will be sprayed, base and clear with the spray gun, and im sticking to the light silver they are or as clost to it without paying extra to have paint mixed
still the pint for the wheels is gunna cost £35 inc vat, seems a bit harsh but it will be good when done.

as i say, it was only done to freshen the insides up which it has, and its good enough for that, outter faces will be like new :Q

small update.

as it wasnt raining today i took the day and went out to the rs to get it fully wet flatted ready for a hot day, which they say is gunna be weekend, we're see.
anyway the car is wet flated, apart from round the rear lights and the shuts, but i dont plan on doing the shuts again nor the front panle.
the rear panel isnt gunna be done again as theres enough paint on it, and theres no point doing it again really.

bumpers and body kit inc mirrors and spolier will be flated tomorrow or wednesday, then if the hot weather does come at weekend, it will be painted again :D

any how pics

Image
Image

before flatting bonnet

Image

when you know the body shop you paid good money too a few years back didnt have the interest in the job like he prob used to :x
this is what happens boys and girls if you dont prep it right before painting, now you can see why i have taken my time with the prep.
this was done but sticking bit of masking tape to the bonnet and then peeling it off, not good, but i feathered it right out

Image

after flatting

Image

and i know what people are gunna say about this, but dont let the way it looks shadow the fact that its a fcuking good compressor (hydrovain) and its prob better than anyone your get from B&Q.
this puppy is 3 phase too  and is what i have been using to paint the car

Image

on a final note, my supervisor was found dead this morning, she prob died of boredom waiting for me to come back and do some work on it
but her eggs are in there so will have plenty of eyes watching me soon

 at your mate. is that how you treat all your friends?!

should look ace when its a freshly finished red gleaming in the sun :Q

as for my locking wheel nut, i didnt keep it in the car  and me moving house twice this year and my parents moving once meant that anything small and of use has been f*cking lost! :x

no idea what the code was for them, im guessing welding a nut onto them is the only option as there not the sort you can wack a socket onto :-?

you have mate.

i wasnt happy with a couple of bits, plus the small fly in the paint on the roof.
the whole car doesnt need doing again just a couple of bits, but might as well give the whole car another going over, plus first time round bonnet and ket etc wasnt done

FFS, you spend hours flatting it all down again, going for a more satisfying finish, and the photo that draws the most comments is a dead spider?! Bloody FT :lol: Contaminants on wet paint is absolutely infuriating, I couldn't have left that either! Fingers crossed for a sunny weekend! :)

yeah the spider pic has aint it
i had a small fly in the roof, a small on on the boot lid, and i had rubber out a run/drip from the gun when the shuts were done and i would still see a mark, prob wouldnt of seen it when it was buffed, but i gotta do bonnet and bumpers etc so thought fock it, flat the whole car again and do it again, this was i see it as a finishing coat rather than a "covering" coat if you see what i mean.

the compressor is a best mate, and will stay in servive when the workshop is up and running.
my dad soes have 2 other comressors, 1 old skool one he broke the pully wheel off by reversing into it  and a 240volt hydrovain but it keeps playing up :x

yeah wheels are near ready for paint, gunna stopper it as i had to use some rough paper to cut through the paint so gunna stopper the scraches before wet flatting them, but there on hold now, the car is more important at the mo :)

washed the body kit today ready to wet flat it, bit pi$$ed off over some of the scraches /damage it has substained while off the car but price you pay for leaviing it in shed with kids bikes etc but its nothing majour anyhow.

washed loads of cr@p off the insides  but all hung out to dry
just leaves front and rear bumper, spolier and mirrors, which is nothing

its not my pants on the line before you ask

Image
Image

the eagle eyed amounge you would of seen something covered in black plastic in a few shots of mine, heres a sneak peak ats whats to come when the car is done and ive cleared the workshop, garage and studio, cant say no more

small update, heard its ment to be hot over weekend here, although im not so sure now, but none the less i got some more bits today.

first off i got another litre of paint, just in case, its been added to the paint i had left in same tin.
also got can of primer for the wheels, and some satin black so i can make the black bit on the rear spolier black again, yes i had it painted red years ago cos i was fed up trying to get polish off it

i also got some bits from fords, some bits are on order.

bits i got

brake and cluch pedal rubber pads (1 on order)
10 rivets, 8 to E/W mech's 2 for the following...
drivers side door glass guide
4 more body kit rivets, not sure why but there on my list
petrol cap surrond
ford plastic battery cover
2 front shock nut covers
expanstion nuts, (plastic raw plug type things in wheel arch for bumper to screw to)

i still need to order the kick trims for the doors seals but at near on £9 each side for stick plastic i didnt have enough cash on me to order them today

if sun shines over weekend i hope to have car painted but we're see if the sun comes out for me :)

  , well you still could see it at FF, if everyone donates about £50 i can have it put in a spray shop and have it back all painted and buffed in a few days, then a couple days to get it back together..

  , na tbh if i had money i would bung it in a paint shop to be done, from the looks of this "summer" its not gunna get done anytime soon :(

what? if you mean beacuse a tyre place fcuked yours up, it wont, im not rattle can painting the rims, its gunna be proper paint and lacquer.
plus the place i use takes care, not like the monkeys at ATS and quick fit etc.
besides, if they damage a wheel, they gotta pay for it

my bro is a tyre fitter and he tells me he gets loads and loads of ppl who have had wheels refurbed and and he trys hard not to f**k the paint but it never works if it aint baked on enamel theres a good chance . i reckon that why the lad doing the guide to refurbishing ya wheels did a really good job but never showed u after he put tyres on . i did mine the sames as u with plastic padding and a spray gun i did about 3 coats of primer 4 of satin black then probably 5 or six of lacquer but i put ma tyres on first and just didnt pop them onto the bead that gave me enough room.. ur obviously a better sprayer than me anyway so i hope it works out right . i would like to see some sprayed wheels that have had tyres added just to see if my brother a talking s**t fitter

  .
one thing to remember though, the small profile the tyre the harder they are to get one so yeah there is always a chance.
im not saying it wont happen to mine, but the guy does take proper care and ive not seen him damage a wheel yet, but then im not there all the time
if he does chip them, he will be paying for it, a discount on the tyres would be a good
