Sounds good man. Are you going to be putting throttle bodies or anything on her???? I love N/A engined cars. They are so nice to drive as you have no turbo lag or anything.

I'm just planning what to do to my new car. It's a 1.8 focus so I'm hoping to get a few 2.0 bits to boost power a little and lower it ect. Nothing mental as its a family car untill i can afford my RS.

I was a series of update pics out of sequence! Looks like you've done a lot more! Is that alllll painting done now then Jay? Looks like you'll have to rely on buffing down the sides of the car (from the pics), but the bonnet and other parts look like you got a really good finish from the gun :) Sounds like you should have plenty of paint down to be able to cut it back all it needs anyway! :D

I like the brackets you made for the arches so they didn't blow about with the pressure of the gun. Good work as always :)

cheers guys.

yeah the side was just as glossy as the rest but there was a bit of paint in the gun as i said, and i told my dad to give the side another coat, he didn't want to as he said it would come out like that, (as temp was dropping etc) but i told him to carry on, so thats my fault  , but yeah it will compound up just fine, its not as bad as the pictures make out

only update so far, is just the front bumper left to paint.

started preping it, like the rear, its got some damage while being stored, and 2 bits of bird $hit that has eaten the paint, but its half preped.

rear bumper has still got green strip.

nothings been compounded yet, gunna try and hire a buffer next week.

my run around car has now been sold, didnt want to, but when i got it off my mate, we agreed i would use it then pay hime a set amoutn when i sold it, and he may lose his job withing next few weeks so i said i woudl sell it and give him the money as he might need it, plus it had to go when rs was done, and it only had 1 month mot left, and i still turned a small profit so still happy :)

anyway, few pics, nothing important

16 inch mondeo ones mate.

gotta pic up another from a mate next week, for a tenner, just for a space, gotta for that price seeing as it comes with centre cap too :) no tyre though.

finished preping thr bumper yesterday (will add pics later) but on priming a couple of areas, the primer reacted with the paint, dunno why though, so looks like i got to find some money to buy another litre of 2k spray gun primer which i could do without as ill have to buy more harnder so looking at about £20-£25 to prime 2 earas no bigger that 3 inch square each.
theres no point priming the whole thing.
being fiberglass i wanna keep the paint thickness down as i dont want stone chips all over the fcuking thing   .

fcok it, ill upload pics now

cant mate, as said in last post, its reacting, had it on a bit on the front of the bonnet too when i primed the front, but i know the 2k mix up ya self stuff dont react.

anyway, update

as said above, done a few bits and primed them and they reacted, so for now ill leave that out of it.
i fitted my escort cosworth washer jets in the bumper today, been meaning to do it for, hmmmm 8 1/2 years now

anyway, to make sure they were put in right and holes were cut right etc a template was made, drew on, got right then the holes cut and filed to size and there a nice fit, but i cannot use the little lugs that keep them in on a cossie, i have had to cut then off and i will have to use some of my super duper double sided sticky foam tape to keep them in, no hardship though.
btw, they will not be connected up, they ar for looks only, although i am going to put pipes on them and hide them should i decied to rig them up at some point

took me more than seconds mate, didnt see the point in rushing as i knew i wouldnt be painting it

but yeah looks much better, i did toy with the idea of cutting the washer jet buldges out and fluching it out but someone done me a photo shop ages ago and tbh, it looked cr@p  so had to fit them, cossie bumper has been on there since early 99

mmm strange that the primer was reacting. can only really be two thing, either u were wacking it on there to much to quick or it didnt like the paint that it was being applied over, and surely u can just flat that back?

cheers guys.

yeah ive had it before on the bumper, dunno why as its always been painted with 2k paint, and 2k primer.
speed its put on doesnt matter, it would just run, weird thing is, its reacting to the red pain on one part of the bumper, but not another, and its the same red paint.
its making me belive its the primer it self.

i had a look today, dont look as bad now its dry, but i will flat it back and try again, if it happens again, ill have to buy something else, but i know the paint going on after will not react to it as ive used the peimer on the car (same can)

after looking at the escort cossies at ford fair the jets are set a bit far back compaierd to the escort, but im not really that worried, everything looks right on a cossie, but at the front of the bulge on my fez i think it would look wrong  , well maybe   .

only a tiny tiny update.

following ford fair which was great :Q , i managed to get the decal i was looking for, by chance really, tbh i forgot about it and on the second time going around just happened to see it in a box and remebered it

i was also on the look for a standard ford badge for the back, the old type one but could only find newer ones, aprt from 1 stall which the guy said they were brand new and were a tenner, although the one i was holding had a chunk missing, had been painted again and was a bit thin on the edges where he had polihed the scraches out, so thought, yeah fcuk you up sun shine.

but, clark (knuckles) came through and gave me a brand new one still in its bag :D nice one bro :D

pic of the 2 new bits.

Image

i spent a massive whole £2 in ford fair, and that was on that sticker

anyhow, gunna do more on the car tomorrow, if i cant sort the reacting out on the front bumper im gunna kick the fock out of it and move on to something else
