cool i see you said the oil feed pipe is a Bic™! this turbo is set right i think

if you have trouble, you can split the small piece of pipe from the feed that comes over the cambelt cover and do it up from there! i think its a 15 and 17mm spanner needed :)

na i'll just put it on before i put the manifold on mate, thats what i always do.

as for splitting the pipe, i will be sorting the feed pipe soon, as im putting in a turbo pre filter

ok, got it all done today, was a few bit that were taking time as i was doing it as i wanted to rather than bung it on with "that will do" thinking, but none the less its done.

had the car running for 15 mins to let it warm up and so far so good.
got a feeling the battery is fcuked though, shame really was brand spanking new about 16/18 months ago as a replacement for my last one that went t1ts up, but its on charge so see what happens, ther battery from the xr2 is on there at the mo as thats a good one.
couldnt even take the battery back though if it is fcuked, lucus is no more and havent been for about 4 months or so

anyway, pics, it is about half inch from the down pipe, and the rubber pipe only just touched the plastic cover on the back of the alternator, but this cover is a bit loose and if it held on as it should there would be about 5mm gap between it and the return pipe, as i said it was/is tight but thats the way i worked it out.
and no, i havent painted the sump where i brazed yet, that will be done tomorrow as i keep forgetting to take the black hammerite out with me

not really mate, got a oil temp gauge i have to plumb in and i wanna fit a fuel pressure gauge thats about it really, everything else ive wanted to do has been done.
well i got to fit the new wheels, if this turbo is a good one then i will get some tures for the new wheels in the new year, if the turbo ends up not good then i need to buy a new turbo, but touch wood from what ive been told about the turbo theres no real reason why it wouldnt be good.
a test drive will soon see though

tomorrow i hope.

only problem is, i have to cross about 20 meters of grass to get on to a hard surface, and i alsmost got stuck in the van trying to get out today as like 2 mph :oooh:
if its too bad i wont bother, as i got the xr2 out side the door at the mo so i got to move that then the rs

mind you i would only drive it home, ill need to get tracking done before i take it for a proper spin

unfortuntatly yes, its been on the cards for the last 4 years, and ive had the wheels for about 3, just over years

they do look bloody good on the fez, but becuase they are common as muck that is the reason i dont want to fit them, but i am a fussy c*nt and i wont fit wheels unless i like them and unless i think they suit my car.
i know some people hate the wheels that are on my rs at the mo, but as i said, i fit what i like, not what others like :)

Thought I'd say hello Jay, as I've not been on here in ages and just read through the last few months of posts. Still not sorted out a decent net connection, so browsing fourms is a pain in the arse.

Your oil return sounds good, but I cant see the pictures :p I think its a problem at my end. trust you to do it the hard way :p

You got it running yet?

I'm making the turbo decision too at the moment. My turbo is fine but I want more than 12psi. I've got a modified t25 at home which needs a rebuild, so I'm hoping to pick that up at Christmas (as I'm now on the south coast) and with any luck get a rebuild done through work. I just dont fancy the idea of a laggy t3. Still not got my Megasquirt mapped, but I've been at work long enough to ask someone if they fancy doing a homer, so with any luck in the new year it'll be mapped and returning better than 20mpg about town (nasty I know). I've still got an oil pressure problem (low at hot idle) but for now I'm leaving it as I need the car. I might end up picking up a cheap van and turning the car into just a weekend toy, then I might look at the bottom end to see what this oil problem is.

Hope your good :)

JAmes.

alright mate.
im good cheers.

yeah thats me, the hard way   pics are there so must be prob your end maybe?

shes running, i took her to ford fair, she was only on road a week then off again as turbo went and some nice c*nt keyed the bonnet, but ive sorted the oil return as above and fitted another turbo and had it ticking till up to temp.
will be getting her out this weekend and back over to my house and in a garage.
will get tracking sorted and then its time to have a play, well, depends on the weather, wont take it out if its freezing or icey

BigUKG

yeah i agree they do look better, in fact they look fcuking great! but, i cant be doing with the scrubbing problems, and ive spoken to a couple of people in the past and been told handling is crap and they tram line.

i have seen a couple wheels i like though, but im going to get a list (picture wise) of the wheels i like and then get some kind soul, if i can find one, whos the b0llocks on photoshop to photo shop each set on my car to see what there like.
but dont expect them to be any sort of wheel you find in fast car or something, i like to be different so will search out different wheels
