This is a bit random and out of the blue....

But i will never forget when your car appeared at ford fair, it kinda snuck in, without anyone realising.

Made the show for me seeing in the flesh finally :Q

And i beg you once again please don't put the mondeo wheels on, although i am not particularly fond of your current wheels, they make it your car in my opinion :D

cheers guys, sorry for late reply no email notification again for some reason :-?

15/16 ich wheels, i dunno what ill go for, tbh poss the 16's but we will see

muz, cheers for the offer mate but im not a love of them wheels, well any multi spoke to be completly honest, well gdont get me wrong i like them on other cars i just dont like them enough to put them on my own car.

i like my wheels to be different, something thats not as common as muck, which is a bit (sp) controdictive seeing as i got some mondeo rims for it, but as im so fussy about what i like they were the better choice out of what i was looking for at the time

If the handling is better with the 15's then keep the 15's mate. Althaugh I think the 16's would look better I believe in performance over looks (Of course it helps if she looks good too :o )

sorry guys, never got any notification to any replies :oooh:

i will be putting the mondeo rims on as soon as i have money for the tyres which shouldnt be too long, just finish paying for my tattoo first, £150 already paid, another session on the tattoo tonight though :)

anyways onto the car.

the car was last driven on the road on new years day when me and jon went out for a little drive, since then its been out the garage a couple times to a clean and then put back, tax ran out end of jan and i sorned it, although i re insured it  no matter.

heres some pics of new years day when me and jon went out.

i have had a little problem with it though, its been wondering about a bit at the front, ive check the arms etc and all seems to be fine but i ordered up some new bits anyway.

i bought some ball joints from national clearance centre, and there proper FRST ball joints, but i have decided not to use the FRST ball joints and stick to the ones i was using (mk3.5 power steering ones)

i have the bottom arms off of jons old FRST so i removed the ball joints (frst ones) and then took the ball joints out my old arms and fitted them to the FRST arms, as the ball joints in my old arms were not that old and still 100% fine.

for those that dont know, FRST arms differ from normal ones, there 10mm long and 10mm set back, the ball joints are long than standard, and the holes in the bottom arms are angled to give it the 10mm set back, so, i still have the 10mm set back, but i dont have the bottom of the wheel sticking out that extra 10mm so the camber is how i like it.
the lower arms i did fit to my FRST were normal mk3.5 ones where there not set out or back at all so these will go back in the shed and stay there untill someone needs one as i wont be using them again.

also on the list of parts, were brand new drop links, and track rod ends, there QH ones, which are just as good as ford no matter what anyone says, and these were got to replace the cheap ebay ones i got, why i got cheap ebay ones i dont know, slap for me i should of known better
your see in the pic just how crap they are, 400 miles and there fcuked! the QH ones are more beefer and far better

didnt do the track rod ends in the end, but there to be done, it started spitting so wanted the main things done first, not that theres anything wrong with the track rod ends though, so might leave them

and i found something else, see the last picture and see if you can see whats wrong

old one, split rubber and dryer than a nuns c**t

jon dont forget i painted the inside of the wheel black

and your right, well sort of, i havent lost the weights, there now sat next to each other on a part of the rim they aint ment to be  only way i could tell they had moved was the fact i painted the weights when i painted the back of the rim, so as you see the gaps in the paint are there, but the weights moved.

seeing as im going to have to pay to have it re-balanced im going to get them to pop the tyre off and seal it as thats the one that keeps going flat so im not overly bothered, prob get that done next week sometime

next week the rs will be coming out to play again.
those that know it hasnt been on the road since new years day  , mainly cos i havent had time to drive it so once the tax ran out end of jan i didnt renew it, even though i renewed the insurance in jan

anyway, i still got the tyre that keeps going flat to sort out, and the tracking will prob need doing again due to changes to the bottom arms again, but no matter, summer is nearly here and i want to drive it :Q

while down the scrappy today with my dad i came across a early xr2i, and it still had the std HT leads.
the same leads some one was trying to get £20 out of me for last week, and today i paid............

nothing
thats right, i got 4 jacking point covers, a TPS, and the HT leads for nothing.
how you ask, simple, i just put then in the back of the van, i didnt hide the fact, i done it in plan sight of the guy in the office and by the time i got to the window to pay he just said, were closing now mate :-? fair enough i said and off i went, thank you very much gov

the leads look grubby but are not damaged, and i did give one a quick rub over with a cleaning wipe and its coming up ok, so ill get them cleaned up and fitted :Q

Image
Image

oh, and i might be going back to get the front bumper and maybe, just maybe the orange indicators too.
no, im not going back to standard, but they seem in good nice and i want to get them (if the price is, right, free would be good again though  ) should i want to go back standard.
i do have a std front bumper but its been badly painted in the past and would need a little work to get 100%, where as the one i saw today looks basicly great nick, even the spots looks ok too

well went to get bumper today.
left it behind :( even though i got it off in the end, the mounting brackets were so rustey i pulled them off the bumper by hand with basicly no force, well 1 stayed on the car even though the nuts were off.
bit gutted i have to say, the amber indicatorts had minor cracks too so left them, but got the bumper lights, 1 is rusty on the back of it, but i got both sides for £12 (knocked down from £15) so not a total loss.

it was very unlucky dave, but no matter, it was a "just in case" bumper anyway

shaun, dont let the dirty-ness sway you  they never gunna look brand new, but for there age they in good nick, just need cleaning up.
the leads you got were cleaner i have to say, but i wasnt gunna be mugged off for them, guy said offers then ignored me completely when i made a offer, then after i posting he had to state a asking price, he did, and he even tried to mug you off for the full asking price even though he put "ONO" and you made him a offer too, in my eyes mate, not only is that damn right rude, but it makes the guy a complete c unt.
tbh, i would prob of paid the asking price if pushed, but after ignoring me i wouldnt give him my money even if they were fcuking mint!

anyhow, no matter about that you just look at these when they all cleaned up, apart from a bit of fading (which they all get) there be as good as brand new! :Q

i have to say i am a little unsure which way to go, i have the following leads

red
blue
grey
black

which do i go for
just kidding, will be black or red, the rest can, well, hang about as spares
