na is it fock mate, wont be long though i hope.

some good news and some bad news, oh and some fudgekin bad news!

good news.

80% of the loom has been re-wrapped (got the engine loom here to do tonigh)

bad news

i have to replace the headlight bulb connection on the drivers side as im not happy with the wiring i done to the side light (explain below)
and i have to make a new bit of loom from alternator to starter motor as its f**cked, and i aint paying £18.11 plus vat for one from fords!
hence why not all the loom is done yet.

fudgekin bad news (for rich)

im closer to getting it done than what i though, hmm £20
:Q

yeah the drivers side head light connection is a bit crap to say the least, when i fitted my cossie bumper as you all know or should know the indicator is in the bumper on the cossie bumper, and not wanting to look like a total 'conquering device' by having a indicator in the bumper and next to the headlight, i converted the indicator next to the headlights into side lights, this was a while ago and the air box was still in so space wasnt on my side, i know i should of taken it out but i didnt so the connections drivers side is a big gash so its being done properly this time.
also now the indicators are in the bumper and i have nice new ones to go in, im moding the bumper indicators to take the bulb hold thats norm used in the standard indicators so new wires will be run in for them and soldered (both sides) and while im there im gunna solder up the conection for the indicator side light on the passanger side, so hence why it not all re-wrapped.

tbh, i forgot about these wires being gash but it was allowed for so dont get to attached to that 20 rich

nothing major today, didnt really feel in the mood to do much this morning but i did get round to doing something this after noon once i cleaned the kids rabbets out

anyhow, i wrapped the engine loom today, stripped off of the tape as it was cr@p, well it was more like someone had wrapped it in cotton   so that came off.
i had to do a qick fix on my CPS plug a while ago now and the fix was so goo it still holding   anyhow i got the plug that been sat there wating for ages to be fitted and fitted it, i stripped the covering off right back, and soldered the new lenth of wire with cps plug back on and as above, wrapped the whole loom
got a new loom from alternaotor to starter motor made up, i didnt do that, i had it done at a auto electrics place which is like 5 min walk from my door  i only went there for the wire and some connections as i couldnt find that old bit of amp wire i had, as i was gunna do it.
anyhow he made it up for me for £5, and gave me 2 headlight bulb plugs and the 6 connections needed for them :D :D and seeing the focking great soldering iron he had to use on that beefy bit of wire i would still be trying to di it now if i had done it
just a shame the main wire is now brown not red, but seeing as ford wanted £18.11 plus vat for a stupid bit of loom like that i can live with a bit of brown wire.

modded 1 bumper indicator light to take the standard indicator bulb holder.

and thats about it from today.

right tbh today i couldnt really be fu cked to do anything, by the time i got home it was about 12 cos i had to be out early to do some things, then i had to pack some bits and get my ass to post office, but about 6 pm i decided i would go out to the shed and do something,

any how i decied it was about time i re-studded my arches seeing as i cant get to the car to work on that and the arches need to be done beofre the paint job anyhow.

as you all know, these arches can be a fuc ker to get off, they snap, spin or the nuts rounds where its so rusty, so i cut the nut off with a drimmel
Image

first up, remove the stud and prep it for glue

Image
Image
Image

prep for glue

Image
Image

trial fit to see that the head sits lower than the arch

Image

im using M4 stainless screws with 2 slots that i cut in to the sides for added strenth, it dont look much buit with the glue im using it does wonders, trust me, i done the driver s rear arch the other year.
the screws are cut down to about 20mm as the ones i got were too long but they came cheap so its all good.

Image
Image
some of you might know this stuff, (and 1 defo will) its expensive sh it, and fu king good stuff and i er, ....was given it when i used to work at my last place

Image

all glued in, trust me you would need a crow bar to pull this arch off and even then your prob tear the arch before pulling a stud its that good.

Image
Image
Image

not the neatest, but you dont get much time with this stuff and it stinks!
last arch i done the other year, the pot i pumped the firs lot into (as it mixes as its coming down the tube) went off and started smoking within 4 mins! but it was fu cking hot in the shed at the time.

any how, 2 are done and 2 need to be done, which ill be doing tomorrow. :D

tis amazing how strong some glues are. I used super steal to mend a bong a few years back an still is fine after being dropped about 1000 times lol. Looks like a good job u done on those arches. I'm just gonna ask at the place I get ma paint what sand paper they suggest lol. Happy mending :)

ooooooooooooh what glue is that jay and does it se solid or is it flexible.

Im trying to find a method of attaching my bodkit arches before i blend them i cant screw them on because of the wheels im using and i dont want to use tigerseal as it has some flex to it.

The arches are fiberglass so i could attach them using chopped strand fiberglass as a bonder but i would rather have them held on with somthing super strong.

do you thing that glue you used will attach fiberglass to bare metal without any problems?

that glue will stick anything.
put it this way, its norm used to stick things to wind turbine blades ( i used to build them) and if you have 3 40 meter blades spinning with a tip speed of 200MPH you cant afford to have things falling off.

it does go hard, not like a super glue/aruldite type hard, if you laid a line of it out and let it go ff you can bend it 90 degree and it wont break, but it dont bend easy, depending on the thick ness that is.
but as soon as you stick 2 bits togethere with it thats it, it wont come apart.
at work once when a blade was broke out it lifted the planing strip ( strip of alloy) and they glued it back down with this stuff, so imagen the strip glued down, a 7 ton turnine blade stuck to it with resin and the glued they used for joining it, then a crane lifting the blade out and it "breaking" out leaving the cr@p stuck to this strip and the blade coming out, thats a lot of pressure being pulled on the planning strip, and it stays there.
the strip is screwed to the mould also, but once its been pulled out the screws are glued in also with this stuff.
any how if it can withstand about 10 pluss ton pulling on it, it can with stand a 8mm nut pulling it to the body of the car

the name of it is plexus, and from what i was told its over £75 a tube :o lucky i got er, was given 2 tubes of it.
but it does have a use by date and that was over a year ago but still good enough for me.
