I like The kick strips man. I'v got some gay "CT Racing" ones on my car that were there when I baught it. Thinking bout getting some Ford Racing ones or just normayl ford ones like yours.

cheers guys.
time wise till its on road, tbh, dunno, everything sems to of gone to shat at the mo, i commited myself to helpping with a project on a house and am still doing it now so not had time to touch the rs, the xr2 i was gunna buy got sold from under me, for £30 less :( and now the wife has bough a dog  , well we have, pick him up on 17th nov as he was only born on the 23rd sep and here he is, a middy size yorky, well , he will be

Image

back to the car, i cant really say, im on the lookout for another mk2 xr2, ive got a bee in my bonnet about getting one, and i really want one and im not sure why i want one so much, so much so i was thinking of going to london to look at one but it was sold, and that would of been my rs money gone :oooh: so think its a bit of lack of time, lost a bit of interest and becuase the cold weather is coming in fast, the fact i cant be focked to get cold working on it, even though the finished result will be worth it.
still, once ive finished this project house cr@p which should be in a week or 2 i can crack on, unless ive got a xr2

funny you say that
worst bit is i didnt want to get it on the road for the winter :x i guess worst case, i could finish it and leave it sat in garage till next summer and drive the xr2 round (if and when i get one) and then put rs on road and then do the xr2, but the more i think about it, i might just leave the xr2 as a xr2 with the cvh in, spose it depends on what its like andif i can get a complete one.
although ive not worked on rs im still throwing money at it, im tempted to buy brand new rocker arms for it, as its got a annoying ticking (like all cvh's) and i know its not cam or tappets as there all new and that leaves rockers, well, tbh its not that bad, its not that loud and its the nosie every cvh makes but there expensive though, but im still thinking it over.
price wise i think there about £9 each x8, and then the clamp and the shim, could be looking at over £100 easy :oooh:

Postby jayrs on Sun Oct 21, 2007 1:18 pm

hello mate.
yeah weather has stopped play again, sods law, i didnt have much spare money in summer time, come now i got a few hundred to play with and the weather isnt on my side, and i still got painting to do so thats that out the window.
ive not touched it in about 7 weeks, and tbh, unless we get this heat wave they keep saying its gunna stay where it is untouched (but checked on a reg basis) till summer time next year.

as for the xr2, at the mo that wont happen, the one i had lined up for £50 got sold from under me for only £20 :( the only other one ive nee offered is for £150 and is completely fcuked! were talking to get it looking haf good it will need, 2 tyres, 2 front seats (as there aint any!) drivers door, 2 wings, front panle, bonnet, complete new body kit as its held on with self tappers  , the bodge welding on the bottom of the rear panels re done, new exhaust hangers on the under side as there aint any and exhaust is held on with chains  , oh, and its metalic blue, well ment to be, its blue and has about as much shine as dry mud.
i could get my whole hand in between the passanger door and the passanger wing, yet the back line on the door and rear qutaer was only a 1/8th out over the lenth so the front end was put on wrong or it hides something behind the kit :oooh:

oh i alsmost for forgot about the 2 bits of ruch which will more than likly go through in front and behind the sunroof and the bit on the scuttle. as i said guy wants £150 as it had 2 months T&T and some konis, he wouldnt take my offer of £50 which i thought was a bit much for what was wrong but still offered it even though i hadnt even opend the doors, boot or the bonnet or had a god look under it.

still, i expect work to be done to one due to the ages etc but the price has got to be reflected in condition, £150 for that is far too much in my book, had the kit and the bumpers not been fcuked and the seats were there and it was just rusty panels i would of got it.

anyhow all that cr@p aside, i dont have a xr2 to do up yet, ive have been told of another one which i will go and look at next week end and try and find out who it belongs too and see what i can do, but tbh ive almost given up on finding one over here now, im not really going to look on the mainland for one as it will cost me upto £200 to go look and bring back and thats without buying it.

the plans i got for the rs so far is a brand new set of rocker arms and seats etc and a oil cooler kit, also the extra paint etc for finishing it, but i have had thoughts of putting a std bumper back on it again, but i got plenty of time to think it over.

more updates as and when, im not gunna try painting in this weather as it will ruin all the work upto now, plus it keeps it off the salty winter roads

Fair play man I cannot argue with that!

I can't believe he wanted 150 notes for that heap lol. Its amazing what lengths some people will go to, to get a car on the road. Chains holding the zorst on is probably the best one I'v heard yet lol.

Were abouts is it you live????? I thaught you did live on the mainland.
