Re: fiesta rs turbo rebuild (56K, NO NO) updated 16/12/07
jonboisxr2i :just read through the whole post its a realy good read somuch hard work and money
will be immaculate
keep up the hard work jay
love those bonnet raisers that i got off you
bugger me mate i dunno if i would want to re read all the last pages
cheers though mate, and glad ya happy with the raisers mate
chris and jamie, cheers guys, ive had it planned for a bit to do as i said in last post and didnt really think to update the post tbh, but last night i was looking about ft and thought i best up date it or people might think ive given up
worst bit about it is that the money i had set aside for the last bits was spent on the xr2, but i needed a car so $hit happens
oh, i was looking at the kick trims that stick on the seals when clark was over and there fcuking different
called fords and he said take them down and speak to the guy on the parts desk (please god not that thick c*nt!) and tell him about it etc, but reckons ill have to buy another one as they prob wont chage it as its special order part , we will see about that, i mean there expensive for what they are (£9 each ) and i dont plan on paying for another but if its the only way out then i'll have to bite the bullet and do it but it wont be without a fight, thats for sure
still, if i do get another free or not, i will make it plan clear if it is different to the one i got, the better one that is, i will not be accepting it, and considering the amount of buisness i have put there way for this they should be willing to sort it for me, i know im small fry to them really, but thats not the point.
the 2 ive got, you can see they are different and the top one (in all the pic's) is in fact the better one out of the 2, and i cant even remember what they look like from the car, so if someone wants to post a pic of there gen ones that have never been removed, please do so.
also the better one came in the ford box not the grey box
cant belive i didnt clock it sooner

The best thing to do IMO is to go in there and just tell them its their fault so they should sort it out and if they dont then you will be writing a formal complaint to their head of dept. At the end of the day if you pay them money you expect to get what you are paying for.
Well hope you get it sorted anyways man.

funny you say that as i will be getting some more roof strips too.
im toying with the idea of getting some from the scrappy and painting them satin black, mainly for the reason that i can wipe polish off easier than when there not painted

Re: fiesta rs turbo rebuild (56K, NO NO) updated 16/12/07
very small update.
some of you might remember i said i will 100% be at FITP this year with the rs, but that is not going to happen
i have not touched the car since the end of september and my plans as stated above have been put poss on hold for reasons out of my control.
its a very long story, but basicly the place my car's in, belongs to a aunt and uncle, there selling one of there places, and buying another and stuff has to be put in the room i was going to put my car into, however that sale may not happen for a few months, so on a brighter note the floor will be replaced in the other room (if thats lost you read last few posts) so it may go in favour but who knows, so for now im looking it is going to be much longer
bit of a disaster right from the start this project, lets hope the xr2 project goes a lot better when i get round to it

Re: fiesta rs turbo rebuild (56K, NO NO) small update 31/1/08
theres not mate tbh, still need to by and fit a few more new bits, not that they are really need but seeing as ive done this much i might as well do them
just need painting done still, i know its been painted last year but theres still some bits that need doing and im still not happy with a few bits so just as easy to give the whole thing a blow over.................... again! and the room that is now going to be filled is where i was gunna put it and use heaters.
it may still happen it may not, the wooden floor in there is rotton to fock and thers talk it might be cheaper to hard core it them cemet the last 4 inches, and seeing as its 12 inch gap and the rooms big engout to get 2 fiestas in with space round them its a big room, which means more time to do, the rs will have to be out the way and all sorts.
its a bit of a nightmare at the mo, but as i said its a long story but i cant explain it here without saying my aunt and uncles business which isnt right to do let alone on a public forum
ah well, worse case ill have to bring the tatty xr2 to the shows

Re: fiesta rs turbo rebuild (56K, NO NO) small update 31/1/08
no mate, thats not a problem, the rs can and will remain in the garage.
the thing is what stuff is going to be moved up and put in the room was always going to go there, but due to the floor being boll0cked it was stored in a garage at another property, and with that looking to go on the market it will have to be shifted out sooner than i wanted.
but tbh, my rs should of been done by now, and also the floor should of been done last year, but with the uncle and aunt living on the mainland and not coming over much it dragged it out (funds etc) then my uncle had a stroke and it went out the window.
i could explain it in full but i would have to state there business etc, which i wont do, but its a set back before i even started! i had these plans to get that floor sorted in feb, get it preped and ready get car ready to go then crack on with it, but with what they have going on, a rotton wooden floor is furthest from there mind so im thinking by the time i get chance to talk properly with them about it all its going to be near end of march/begining of april (bear in mind they live on mainland and like to speak business face to face) so its gunna put me back, not stop me, just delay things mate, so i will not be at FITP with the rs, but i damn well will make sure its at ford fair even if i have to drive it there with 3 wheels and no seats

with the faded paint and as it stands i dont think anyone would want me parked near them, still, right next to the whites would be fine as tatty or not red shines through as its the best
i got plans for that little baby too when rs is on road, but it is in no way being done to anywhere near the standard of the frst.
i dont mean ill cut corners but i aint going whole hog on the xr, after all it will be daily driver, rs will be kept for, in fact scrap that, fcuk the xr for a while i wanna drive the rs!
chrise good find mate but there not the same, from the looks of them they look like vision 1, where as i have vision 2's on mine

Re: fiesta rs turbo rebuild (56K, NO NO) small update 12/2
well only a small update.
by the end of the month i should have some more paint so just need weather to improve to be able to use it,
anyway, had a touch on ebay last week, a brand spanking gen ford steering wheel.
the pic makes the leather look dark grey but it is in fact a matt/satin black and nice and soft
just need a gear knob to match now. oh and won for the bargin price of £60.56p inc postage
remember, i have a black dash already etc, and will be fitting black carpet etc etc

Re: fiesta rs turbo rebuild (56K, NO NO) small update 12/2
cheers guys
yeah black is better imo.
as for FITP, if i had the money to have the car put in a booth and painted, yes there is every single chance you could as it would be on the road by the end of feb, but, i dont have that money mate so it has to be painted in the garage again.
when its done again the gravity gun is not being used, i sprayed the engine back with a divilbiss suction gun and it came out spot b0llock first time, 2 times round with the gravity gun is showing a finish which isnt as good as the bay, ok my dads painting it but hes a far better sprayer than me so the fault must be the fact the gun is A not set right although it seems to spray just fine, or B its just a plan cr@p gun, but again it seems ok, and the bumper and skirts came out ok, even if i did managed to geta nice run on one
mind you a cheap auto tint paint was used in the bay and the more expensive paint used on the car, but im not taking the risk of using the gravity gun this time, and if we get a spot on finish from the suction deilibiss, ill put a 12 bore to the gravity gun and spread it across the fcuking field
anyway, lol, back to you point about FITP, as much as it pains me, i wont be there in the rs mate, even if by chance i can have it finished before hand i want to get a good few hundred miles on it at least (500-1k miles pref) before even going on a motorway run, i dont wanna get it done say a week before hand and do a bloody great run from isle of wight up there, not worth sh@ggy my new engine for mate.
there are still other factors stopping/slowing the progress but i dont wanna paste it all over public forum mate
