Fiesta RST [Lithuania]

I'll try to keep it simple with this topic and pics.

2002 July - bought a standard 1.1 with RS body kit.

2004 May/June - nothing special was done, just a maintanance treatment (oils changed, shokcs and springs, white indicators added):

Some sketches from those years, about how could it look like:

2004 October/Nowember - surprisingly found crashed RST for sale. Took it without much thinking, couse it seamed to be the only RST in country.

Image Image Image Image

2005 January/March - 1.1 body + RST internals = RST i could drive.

2005 May - Still in a need of some body work:

2006-2008 Tryed to do as many work with RST, i could. With a minimum of spare time it took quite a long time. Took whole engine appart and put back together, changed shoks to bilsteins, added red springs, some 16" wheels, works on air intake and exhaust. Tryed also to make o bodykit, but someone managed to crash the mould i made for bumper. So that didn't work:

All that time had to drive these:

2008 Septemper - First drive out in few years:

2009 March\May - Body work:

2009 Septembes - All done and MOT passed

Thats all for now. And that's what i was aming for:

Some ideas could be too much ricey, but this sketch is from 2005, so something more clean should come out some day after 10 years with my tempo.
Now i got some technical issues to manage - handling and engine rev working, but those i will ask in technical part of forum

wow!

that car has come so far and looks great mate! well done to you fella.

1 thing though, change the back box, the tail pipe looks pants and lets it down, im not a great fan of the back bumper set up you got but its different, but change the back box, or if you have the 1.1 exhaust on there still, change the whole thing, apart from that, looks great mate :)

Back box is from xr2i. Had to put it on for MOT, because they said, it was too loud. also they said that my wheels are too big. So for second passing I changed that. A little bit of welding and back box is back on.
The rear bumper is the only option i got, cause original one was crashed in accident by previous owner. Thought about making my own bumper, so left that one on.

got few of those, but most of them are already without bumpers, or for sale with a whole car. At the moment things that concern me more - engine revs and car stability. But also i'm registered to few ford forums , so keep an eye on any xr2i parts for sale.

I see UK as heaven for RST lovers- all those spare parts, aftermarket parts you can buy, body kits, etc. And here all we have are escorts. few xr3i, few rs. all the cosworths (escorts, sierras) we have here were shippped from uk and rebuilt for left hand driving. I couldn't even find rear opening window (as originally on RST), because one of mine was crashed. Thats why i had to put fixed ones as in pictures.
I was shipping some parts from there - shocks, springs, strut bar, also used radiator.
But as the bumper is temporary, i do not give it much attention. Now the car is clean, nice, and i like it.
Examples of mk3 in our country:

After rebuilding the RST engine twise, decided to put in zetec 1.8 with T3, 195chip. Runs at 14 psi. Pics a little later.

Unfortunatelly, the fan, they used to put in front of the car - broke down, when my turn came. They said, the fan ads about 10-15 to the values of chart. So these are mine without cooling fan.

Thanks,
but it still runs with standard zetec fuel rail zetec type injectors - but do not know from what model they are).
Now building a fuel rail for 701 injectors, or the saab ones with aluminium cones in the end ( what helps to cool down the mixture and spreads mixture into mist). Will ses if anything changes. After that with some more fuel, boost preassure adjustment hope to get slightly more of horses in it. (but even now thats enougth for me)
