fiesta si pas..... to non power steering

Postby fiestasiphil on Sun Sep 13, 2009 7:45 pm

hi ive got a fiesta si 2.0 16v and the steering rack is leaking very badly and as it has been sitting in a garage for a few months all power steering fluid has leaked out.

i want to now convert the car to have no power steering and have a manuel steering rack etc ( aka less likey to have leaks)

im not sure what i need to do the full conversion

all i know is xr2i steering rack and a xr2i 1.8 16v alternator bracket, what else do i need?and what fiesta do i need it from?

i also want to keep the steering wheel airbag on the car if i can?

cheers phil :)

will need a none power steering rack and also a none power steering coloumb.

Have got both of these for sale actually ;)

you will also need a none power steering bracket from either a 1.6 or 1.8 zetec engine from either a fiesta or escort.

Also will need the alt belt for a none power steering car.

then you will just have to un plumb all of the bits for the power steering like the cooler etc and remove and swap bits over.

job done.
