fiesta si turbo( Small Update )
Hello,
Thort id show you all how my fiesta came to be what it is to day.
It stared out life as a 1.4cvh fiesta si which iv had for about two and a half
years now its still my 1st car allways liked si's
To cut a long story etc....
Iv allways joked/dreamed of putting a rs turbo engine in it and after going to FITP this year(my 1st show) and seeing all the nice cars i thort why not.
I got my self a very rusty rs turbo cheap to use as a donor car
and just after going to ford fair i booked some time off work and got to, well work
1st day started taking the engine out of the rs
Going down
Out
Hole
Found the hardest bit was trying to get the abs off and out the way
Next job was to get the engine reddy to go into my car
Fitting power steering pump and cleaning/painting replacing broken bits
ERST gearbox
Buy this time i had the engine out of my car dont have pics of this dont
know why must have been to busy
Spot the hand.

Engine going in
Its in!! at this point i was so happy just kind off looked back at
thort YES iv done it still a long way to go tho..
Thats it for now i will update the rest later,
Let me know what you think iv miss out some bit cos it would just be to
long if i put every thing in.
Thank for looking,
Russell.

Your right jayrs theres no way you would get the pump in there with a t2
lots off room with a t3 tho or as heeman puts it a "proper turbo"
As for the looms iv used the rs engine loom and the si interior loom the si loom looks much the same as the rs one but sure all the pins would be wrong for the ecu.
Knuckles good luck on fitting your engine.
Thank for all you comments update is on its way.
Russell.

Back to it.
By this time i had run out of time off work so every thing was done in the eveings and at weekends which is why its taken so long to do.
Or so why i didnt put this up when i was doing it just didnt have time.
Inlet manifold going on and turbo
Power steering bottle, had to move this from buy the brake servo to the inner wing because i didnt want to run all the hoses past the hot turbo
and really just seems esayer having it there.
Rest off the stuff going in not really that hard just takes time had to cut
and join some off the water hoses to fit around the p/s pump.
Air fillter on
Rad and intercooler fitted had to cut a bit away to clear the fan.
Tank painted black then fitted with frst fuel pump
Put the drive shalfs back in used the si ones as the hub end is bigger on
the si's (30mm nut on an rs to 32mm on si's) same size gearbox end.
Then came in my view the hardest bit the wiring this in its self
took about a week and a half.
I had fitted the rs engine loom into the car and left the si interior loom
the problem came when i went to plug the looms together.
Cant remember this exactly so dont hold me to it but the si loom had
some thing like 12pins onit and the rs 7pins and there all diffrent colours
So started looking at all the diagrams but this wasnt really any help as
they didnt show this plug so i started taking the looms apart and fine out
what each one did one by one.
Found out a lot of the si ones werent needed for the rs loom and a lot of
them were just current returns so conected the ones that i needed put some petrol init and tryed my luck, after terning it over for ages i still
wouldnt start so swaped over the current returns and it started
Thats about it sure iv miss bits out just ask if you have any questions.
Still finshing it off now im being really picky about it because i want to get
every thing just wright befor its back on the road so still lots off updates to
come.
This is it as off a few weekends ago
Now with pace cooler
Thanks again
Russell.
