fiesta st170 turbo
Re: fiesta st170 turbo
crazycage :thanks ,its easy to live with it has all its trim and a stereo ect and i run soft springs on the coilovers when on the road too.
i used it ever day as my only car from central day last year to the donington track day on the 29th dec last year but with the head gasket letting go and the block needing a skim i was forced into buying a mk4 1.8 diesel fiesta as a cheap car just to get me to work and back till i sort out the fez.
50MPG and bombproof, but my god, they're slow. Must have been a shock

it was proper flying ,i was running around 310-320hp on the day because of the damp track and it breezed past me but then again i was spinning the wheels most of the way down the pit straight

Re: fiesta st170 turbo
You don't see enough Zetecs running COP, nice one
My Mk3 was brilliant in its original 1.8D guise, NEVER returned under 400 miles from a tankful, regardless of how it was driven. JUSSST used to make it to 100mph on the flat, after no more than a 30 second run-up from 70mph (no joke), but torque was good on it and made it equivalent in performance to a 1.3 petrol Fiesta of the same era! Practically a race car TBH

Re: fiesta st170 turbo
a few more parts that i got back from the cnc shop.
coil on plug almost done
and the head plate for my new inlet plenum that i will be doing a batch of 6 too expencive to just get 1off's done i saved a few quid getting a billet for all 6.
i have had the ports in the plate put into it at the same angle as the port in the head with it being the 1st there will be minor changes to the plate but very little .
just waiting on the billet for the fuel rails now .

Re: fiesta st170 turbo
The plate looks interesting mate - let me know how much you want for one of them as it may make it easier for me to fit the Pulsar inlet.
The COP I ordered from the states was £199 for essentially what you have there, only I assume yours cost a fraction of that! Didn't have the time to get stuff made

Ahh OK, have you been doing some bench work with a new manifold? I know the taper is really important to power on the Zetec. I'm currently deciding whether to use one of Ian's inlets, but the £750 price tag puts me off. I'll be interested to see what you have - you may have a customer here!

ians inlet's are nice but when i asked about them they were 750 + 100 for the rail
the only tapper on the runners on my inlet my will be getting the runner from round to oval 40mm runners and velocity stacks and a twin plenum ,billet fuel rail and they will be a lot cheaper the than the area six one.
a few pic's of a cvh plenum i made the other month, the zetec one will prob be like this

sorry i meant the flow bench as mark said above
you've done a few manifolds now,
just interested in what figures on the flow bench your newest manifold will make compared to your older one etc

Looking good mate. For more equal cylinder filling the entry into the main plenum from the feed plenum should be on a taper – starting out wide at the TB end and narrowing towards no 4
