louma84 :full on zetec turbo power is gonna cost ya 5k+, zvh with a fiesta rst head would be the cheaper option thats if u just don't want to stick a frst lump in [ERRR] which would be the cheapest option!
5k not quite that much, depends on the spec and zvh wouldnt be cheeper at all.
frst engine would be the cheepest option, but is a step back and would require some attacking of wiring loom. 1.8ZT is do able for a reasonable price

sounds expensive to me ok then what the max my engine will push out with out a turbo i no that if i fit mondeo 130psi cams larger throttle bodie and ecu it will push 130bhp but that just not enought i will be happy with 150+ but i aint got 5k to spend on it .

Why not just use the cams, throttle body and ecu from either an RS1800 or a 2.0L Mondeo.
This will give you the same power output as a 2.0L or RS1800 (130BHP) but obviously the torque will be slightly lower but not a great deal!
Swapping these 3 parts over is alot more straight forward than changing the engine and should work out cheaper!
Thanks
Dan

it would be a little cheaper, being that a performance cylinder head for zetec is more expensive than a cvh and theres twice the cost for cams n pulleys BUT in the great scheme of things this difference is negligable imo i might be wrong like but thats how i see it.
Mind you i have no idea the cost of modication to mate the cvh head with the zetec bottom end!

well all the modifiying it takes to the zetec head to allow for forced induction, ie manifold for turbo, c/r, fitment of suitable injector rail, engine mangement!. where as the cvh head its all there for u! all that is needed is alittle modifying to allow the cvh head to fit the zetec bottom end!

i agree... you only have to take the engine apart for that

well after all that the guy is sayin [ERRR] price!!!! so keep to the post!! if you want turbo power the cheaest way is to do a frst conversion but even this is not cheap you will need loom, ecu, all pipes, engine, manifolds, turbo, exhaust, rad maybe more?? thats just off the top of my head so you need to seriously think wot you want to do..

"All the modifying" being a couple of spacer plates to fit the EFi manifold then?
As opposed to the ZVH blanking of the oil galleys, 1300cvh cambelt tensioner, camshaft pulley spacer, 150mm head bolts, 2.0 US CVH head gasket, dipstick bracket, water pump plate, oil feed to head o-ring etc.
You'll need to change the CR of the bottom end regardless of what head you use, unless you're doing a really low boost conversion.
Even if you've got a fully worked CVH head it would make more sense to sell that and go 16v.

blitz if you are reading all this you will see there are alot of work involved in zvh and zetec so as i said you can either keep [ERRR] you got now, put a frst lump in, or spend a fortune

i would just basically get a rst and use all the running gear apart from the block which i would use a 2.0 zetec which would give better bottom end performance torque ..........i think
run low boost until you can afford forged pistons, better management e.t.c.
